Cuomo: Gay ‘Marriage’ Coming to New York

NY Dems march in Gay Pride Parade (Gov. Paterson, Andy Cuomo, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Sen. Chuckie Schumer

NEW YORK, October 15, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Legalizing same-sex “marriage” in New York will be a number one priority in his administration, said Democrat gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo to homosexual activists Wednesday.

Cuomo told attendees at Wednesday’s Empire State Pride Agenda's Fall Dinner that when he is elected governor, he will guarantee that same-sex “marriage” becomes a reality in New York State.

"I don't want to be the governor who just proposes marriage equality. I don't want to be the governor who lobbies for marriage equality. I don't want to be the governor who fights for marriage equality,” said Cuomo. “I want to be the governor who signs the law that makes equality a reality in the state of New York."

Legalizing same-sex “marriage” has been a priority for New York’s two previous Democrat governors: Eliot Spitzer (who resigned from office in disgrace over a prostitution scandal) and David Paterson, whose push to legalize same-sex “marriage” was defeated by a bipartisan coalition in the state Senate led by pro-family Democrat Ruben Diaz, Sr. (see coverage)

Same-sex “marriage” has passed easily in the Democrat-dominated Assembly, but not in the Senate where Republicans managed to block the legislation until they lost control of the chamber two years ago.

Cuomo’s statement of unequivocal support for the agenda of gay activists comes at the same time as his challenger, GOP candidate Carl Paladino, has been backtracking on his statements to Jewish leaders that he did not want children “ brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option.”

Paladino said Tuesday his words were "poorly chosen" and asked forgiveness from offended homosexuals.

"If elected as your governor I will stand and fight for all gay New Yorkers rights," he said in a written apology.

The pro-life GOP candidate has been mired for weeks in a public relations morass from past and present missteps that have made it nearly impossible for him to focus the race on Cuomo. These issues range from the disclosure of racist and pornographic emails Paladino allegedly sent as jokes to friends, to his angry public fight with the NY Post over their public attention to the love-child he decided not to abort a decade ago, and revelations that he is a landlord to a Planned Parenthood facility.

Paladino’s campaign told the NY Post that he cannot legally evict the abortion provider which his company inherited as a tenant from a real estate deal.

Sounds like Andy plans to bypass the will of the people- oh wait, he IS “the will of the people”. It’s good to be da king.

Maybe the first gay wedding he attends will be in a mosque.
Maybe not.

Gubernatorial candidate Paladino hammered Cuomo for bringing his teenage daughters to a gay pride parade earlier this year. "Is that normal?" he asked on ABC's "Good Morning America." "I don't think it's proper for them to go there.
Tea Party hero Carl Paladino rages against 'disgusting' gay pride parades

Both Cuomo and Paladino are Catholic. Imagine how the media would have handled this news story had a catholic priest brought children to the same parade? Ok for daddy Cuomo to show up with his kids though.

“Cuomo: Gay ‘Marriage’ Coming to New York”

His political epitaph.

There is no intellect left in the left.

Cuomo is the very definition of vapid.

There has not been an original idea in that septic pool for years.

“His political epitaph.”

In any political era that I have lived through Paladino could confidently be said to have blown it by now. I would not want to bet my life however that he has no chance to win. There may be more anger out there than ever before. REAL anger. And Cuomo’s apparent comfort with waving the big gay flag at trhis point may signal his ignorance of that anger.

I can’t stand this thug or his thug father!

The gay marriage issue alone should have sent people to the Palidino camp.

Palidino should have stuck to the issues. Now I think his goose is cooked. He let the media define/crucify him.

We haven't voted yet.

He let the media define/crucify him.

Like Palin did?

Are New Yorkers happy with this being the ONLY issue to elect their governor on? Don’t they ask themselves what else is at stake, what horrors might be visited on them if they go through with this?

if they go through with this?

Go through with what?

If Carl is elected, he will fight Obamacare, cut the state budget and lower taxes.

If Cuomo wins, we lose.

Well, in all fairness, I'd consider going gay if I was dating Sandra Lee.

The future first lady of New York?

What’s interesting is how Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is enthusiastically going along with all of this.

When she was a Congresswoman, she was considered centrist, but as a Senator, she has made a hard turn to the left and is now espousing extremely liberal views.

I don’t know if the voters in NY-20 would have ever thought she would ever become pro-gay marriage, pro-ACORN and pro-gun control. She’s a total flip-flopper.

Legalizing same-sex “marriage” in New York will be a number one priority in his administration, said Democrat gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo to homosexual activists Wednesday.

So for all you unemployed New Yorkers, Cuomo says "Screw You!"

Talk about being out of touch with what's going on in his own state .....
