President Obama: 'Fear and frustration' drive voters

WEST NEWTON, Mass. - President Barack Obama said Americans' "fear and frustration" is to blame for an intense midterm election cycle that threatens to derail the Democratic agenda.

"Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we're hardwired not to always think clearly when we're scared,” Obama said Saturday evening in remarks at a small Democratic fundraiser Saturday evening. “And the country's scared.” Obama told the several dozen donors that he was offering them his “view from the Oval Office.” He faulted the economic downturn for Americans’ inability to “think clearly” and said the burden is on Democrats “to break through the fear and the frustration people are feeling.”

“You can respond in a couple of ways to a trauma like this,” Obama said, referring to the economy. “One is to pull back, retrench and respond to your fears by pushing away challenges, looking backwards. Another is to say we can meet these challenges and we are going to move forward. And that’s what this election is about.”

We are like animals in the field acting out fear instead of reason. Massive insult to Americans.

Am I hearing this right? He has "facts, science" and etc. on his side but we're not listening or thinking clearly due to fear? WTF?! Never have we had a "president" like this guy! Anybody would be an improvement.

Precisely how a creep like Obama managed to become President of the United States.

This guy is a double-down asshole. He is a solid communist and no amount of facts, or the peoples' desire for capitalism, will ever sway him.

After this little hissy-fit masquarading as a pep-talk, I daresay he will not even be on the Presidential ticket in 2012.

Furthermore, there is a good chance he will be impeached and/or exiled. Certainly he will be utterly shunned by the vast majority of America.

He is absolutely the worst President in our nations' history.

Oh no, polls show that she’s unpopular, washed up, doesn’t have a chance against the Lightworker, etc. etc. Don’t you read what the Msm is saying? LOL

It is affirmative action speak for:

“Dialectical materialism is unpersuasive to the revanchist masses because their reactions are chemically driven fight-or-flight responses rather than analyses rooted in objective, Marxist-Leninist science and ideology.”

He called us panicked sheeple this time instead of bitter clingers.

I would like to promote this to Breaking News.

I feel the maximum number of people should be exposed to the breathtaking delusion and hubris, so as to be more motivated in three short weeks.

This is big stuff, right here. I will take the action of promoting it to Breaking News, and if I erred, please demote it again. But after reading it, I suspect you will both agree that this sort of Carteresque Malaise-speech Hatred of Capitalism and America speech should get the widest possible circulation.

Jimmy Carter redeaux.

I'm half-expecting this moron-of-a-President to wear a sweater, have a fireside chat, and be attacked by a rabbit.

That he says it doesn't surprise me. That he may actually believe it scares the hell out of me. He is clueless and dangerous.
