No one can hide for this long? You can't be serious? Nor do you understand the logistics and sheer scope of the region in which these animals ek out their lives... Ever heard of Zawahiri, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar & Jalaluddin Haqqani? We have been hunting each of these men for as long as UBL...
Each will be put in the ground one of these nights....but time was always on their side in the short term range once they decided to seek shelter in the Pak border regions...The CIA is to risk adverse in terms of hitting targets and gathering Intel....If the Mil side was put in charge of finding their own targets we could tighten our OODA loop enough to increase the odds of nailing these SOBs.

"Ooga, booga, B O O !Boogie men always dance on que ( as long as the get their check from the CIA).

“protected by locals and some members of the Pakistani intelligence services”
I have no doubt that elements of the Pakistani intelligence service know exactly where they are at and are providing protection.

The kidney disease myth, is just that. It was debunked by several differing Gov't OGAs back in the late 90s....it started because of equipment purchases that could be duel use....
Knowing someone remains alive and knowing someones given location are two separate realities, both completely conceivably true.
There are numerous ways to conclude (even verify to a set date) that someone is/was alive, without being able to pinpoint their location in any actionable sense.
When one understands the region of the world where he is located along with the logistic complexities regarding both Intel and DA Ops, one understands how he has remained alive.

I thought it was started based on his sickly appearance at the time

It has been speculated that he likely has Marfan syndrome, which is more common among tall/thin Middle Easterner’s....

Just as every other big bad guy has been killed (and confirmed) from Saddam, to Zarqawi, to the Mehsud clan leaders and a list of other HVTs we have sought out and killed in Stan...through the deck of cards in Iraq.....Each of these men when killed, is confirmed and comes out in rather short notice. None look different, none have elaborate disguises....They are merely scum that have finally met justice. It will be no different for UBL or Zawahiri when that night comes...

At one time there was no shortage of bin laden videos but no new ones for a long, long time. Why not?

Pakistan is not our friend and it is no stretch of the imagination to think they are harboring our enemies there. Islamic birds of a feather are flocking together and playing us for fools.

At one time there was no shortage of bin laden videos but no new ones for a long, long time. Why not? First, this really isn't accurate. There has never been a tremendous amount of video of UBL. Secondly, and more importantly....when there was video of him, it was prior to us putting boots on the ground and hunting his sorry as$! UBL clearly became much more interested in his well being, staying alive than with promoting his new found status.
Also note, the video of him that came out shortly after 9-11 was not put out by him or AQ propaganda wing....but it was video that was recovered during a US SOF Op and then released to the public. Could there be other such videos recovered during Ops since (be it 2005, 2007, 2008) and simply not released to the public?
