How true. We got a reminder of this two nights ago when our house alarm sounded at about 1AM. My wife and I were sleeping. The alarm was pretty scary. We thought there was someone in our house. We grabbed our firearms. The police were called immediately. Carrying my 38 cal I went downstairs to check things out. Turns out to be a false alarm. No sign of intrusion. The police arrived about 25 minutes after the call. He told me he didn't know the area too well.

Whatever could have transpired that night would have been long finished by the time the police showed up.

It's not just the police, it's also the fire dept. and the EMS. A few nights ago, we were awoken by sirens so went out to see what was up. The EMS and fire truck were driving around the neighborhood lost. They apparently had split up and the fire truck couldn't find the ambulance so kept sounding the siren. Geez, we have one long road with about a dozen block long side roads leading off it with about 3 houses on the side roads so it's not that hard to find an address. But no, they kept flipping on the siren waking up the entire neighborhood instead of just looking for the only other headlights around or using the radio. But then, they're usually drunk anyway so...

As for the article - good for her.

Why anyone would break into any home in Texas, I’ll never know.

7:30 PM? That’s brazen. At least the fool broke in between TV programs.
