Wow, these Europeans are quick thinkers.
The fact that they are even saying this says something about them. When was the last time one of elected officials made an official statement. Certainly not Hildebeast.
Well, you have to give her credit for saying something - though it be obvious. PC thought is so entrenched in this Nation, as in most of the West - that facts can't be stated.
Juan Williams mutters some straightforward observations and he gets fired. So I give this Italian politician credit. It might be obvious - but she's bucking the PC gestapo to say it.
It would be well to note that Italy's former outspoken and accomplished reporter, Orianna Fallaci, was one of the earliest cases of an outspoken opponent of Islamic takeover of Europe to be persecuted by Islamofascists. According to Wikipedia (link above),
"In 2002 ... the Islamic Center and the Somal Association of Geneva... sued Fallaci for the allegedly 'racist' content of [her book] The Rage and The Pride. [A] Swiss judge issued an arrest warrant... and requested the Italian government to either prosecute or extradite her. Italian Minister of Justice Roberto Castelli rejected the request on the grounds that the Constitution of Italy protects freedom of speech.
"In May 2005 ...the Union of Italian Muslims launched a lawsuit against Fallaci charging that 'some of the things she said in her book The Force of Reason are offensive to Islam' ... most notably a reference to Islam as 'a pool that never purifies.' ...Consequently an Italian judge ordered Fallaci to stand trial ...on charges of 'defaming Islam'... Fallaci accused the judge of having disregarded the fact that [president of the Union of Italian Muslims] had called for her murder and defamed Christianity.
"In France, some Arab-Muslim and anti-defamation organisations such as MRAP and Ligue des Droits de l'Homme launched lawsuits against Oriana Fallaci charging that The Rage and the Pride and The Force of Reason... were 'offensive to Islam' and 'racist.' "
Ms. Fallaci, who was approximately the equivalent of Barbara Walters in having access to and interviews with high-level world figures, endured these years of chilling legal battles over free speech while battling lung cancer. If I recall correctly, she died before these trials could take place.
