MUST SEE: Krauthammer Slams NPR's Hypocrisy Over Williams And Totenberg
RealClearPolitics ^ | october 22, 2010 | RealClearPolitics

FOX News: "I don't understand the inconsistency here," Dr. Charles Krauthammer said on PBS's "Inside Washington" Friday night. Another guest on the panel was NPR's Nina Totenberg, whom Krauthammer targeted for her consistent liberal bias.

"Why is it okay for Nina to express opinions as she has tartly, sharply, unashamedly and openly? And she's an honored correspondent there; in fact, they mention your status here on ["Inside Washington"] in your biography at NPR. And Juan, because he expresses his opinions, he gets canned from NPR," Dr. Krauthammer said.

Totenberg said she's been put in an "awkward position" with the uproar and offered her explanation of why Williams was singled out for dismissal. "In the modern journalistic world, where people are asked to give opinions all the time whether you're a regular on a show like this or not, if you cover a story you may be asked to appear on a television show and talk about it. I think it's a very very difficult line to draw. And NPR tries to draw it, in my view, using rules that don't exist anymore."

"I have personal opinions that I will not share with you," NPR's Nina Totenberg said, who has not been afraid to share her opinions before. Juan's firing was not "popular on the floor" at NPR.

"All I can say is screw the terrorista la raza CAIR liberal marxist muslim Islamic scum bag goat doinking PC crowd, fugetaboutdem, stinkin rats."

This where political correctness has taken us to. Freedom of speech unless you say the wrong thing. I am no fan of Juan Williams but maybe this incident will open his eyes a little. However I'm not holding my breath.

I don't think it's being missed. I saw a clip of Meghan Kelly from FOX dealing with that CAIR jerk. So I do think the issue is out there. This story is far from over, whatever the libs want. It is an issue that is playing into the storyline of the lib insanity that's ruining this country--it's not an isolated story, so it has legs. And as a story continues, and there's less to report, more things have to be talked about just to have something to talk about.

The MSM will ignore the CAIR element as long as they can--maybe until the story plays out--but at least FOX smells blood and is all over this, because they're involved.

The thing about elections is you can never see what's coming, what's going to impact the race. I think this is a small part of a larger story people are tuning into.

Nina Totenberg is the quintessential smug, pompous, self-satisfied liberal elitist that makes me VOMIT....

Excellent! Nina gets slammed.

I liked Krauthammer pointing out that she is a correspondent and he (Juan) an analyst. If anything, he should be given MORE free reign than her.

Front Page was saying that Michelle O wanted him fired too because he commented on her Stokley Carmichael designer clothes and mentioned that she was going to hurt the Wun’s popularity. SOOOOO, the writer at Front Page was thinking she was the one who had him axed.

They talked around the answer didn’t they? I hope Congress does defund them. How is it Constitutional for the fed to be the propaganda business?

I don’t have a lot of love for Krauthammer but he did well in hammering Nina. She ducked, weaved and equivocated. Unfortunately the panel let her get away with it.

But the bitch was sure trying to crawl under the table. God how liberals like that irk me.

It is important to defund both NPR and CPB! CPB gets the funding and hands over a huge chunk of it to NPR in station programming fees.

http://www.npr.org/about/aboutnpr/statements/fy2009/2009_LA_NPR_Cons.pdf NPR’s Financials 2009 Total Revenue $153,000,000!! $62,000.000 plus from station programming fees.

Man, I hear ya. Thinking of that is beyond disgusting. Talk about ugly inside and out. Wow, what a vile creature. People like that woman invented the word bitch.

Nice thought but Congress never defunds anything. If this is a big enough loss for the Democrats it might (might I stress) put the fear of the voters in the rest, both Democrat and Republican. There are 20 Democrat Senate seats up in 2012.

NPR has thrown away it’s excuse for existing.

NPR needs to be put out of it’s misery. How dispicable they are.

This is where the spotlight should be rightly shown.

I know but CAIR already owns the spotlight.

DeMint says he’s going to try to defund NPR and PBS. Don’t know when he’s going to intro the legislation though.

"It is important to defund both NPR and CPB!"

And make them bid and pay for their channel licenses, like everyone else.
