Friday was last call for Randy Michaels as chief executive of Tribune Co. Accused of turning Tribune Tower into a bawdy house, Michaels tendered his resignation.
[Snip]
Pressure grew on Michaels after a New York Times article portrayed him as creating a sexist and boorish atmosphere within the company. Within days of the story, a top Michaels subordinate sent a companywide e-mail with a link to sexual content. The subordinate, Lee Abrams, resigned last week.
Creditors Friday got judicial permission to sue the company chairman, Sam Zell, for taking the company private in 2007 in a debt-laden buyout.

Bloomberg, whom we cannot excerpt, has a much better synopsis of Sam Zell's donnybrook.
The bottom line: A couple of the worst MSM newsers (Chicago Tribune and LA Times) are going to be tied up in litigation for years, and may well be finished before this is all over. Savior Sam has already lost a fortune through his commercial real estate business, another pile through his adventure as a media mogul, and will lose much more in a few months when adjustable rate mortgages reset. And other White Knights are going to think long and hard before bailing out any more presstitutes.
Articles by both the NYT and Sun Times (both very far left papers) talking about the dirty house of the sometimes conservative (usually only voice of conservatives) here in Chicago.
I find from where the stories come a bit more interesting then the stories themselves. But what do I know?
Those of us in the Chicago area know that the Tribune has NOT been a conservative paper for several decades. The MSM trades on the paper’s long past conservatism by trumpeting the current editorial board’s pronouncements as indications that “even conservatives agree.”
mmm mmm mmm
I wouldn’t disagree with any of your post at all. I would only add, that like I stated, it is a “sometimes conservative” paper, whereas the SunTimes is always so far left it considers Daley too far right.
We don’t have many choice here in Chicago when it comes to printed news, I make do by listening to Don and Roma, its as close to sanity as I can come, though even Roma can be a bit too left for me.
Then Rush gets me through the mid-day while in the work van, and the radio has to go off after that, or I develop road rage.
The only printed material I do read is online if I can help it, but I do get stuck with a paper once in awhile, and it better not be the Sun Times.
Does this mean John Phillips will be back doing traffic reports in Cincinnati?
