I think this sums it up:

"According to a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, one third of Republicans say they don't back the tea party. Among this group, a slight plurality says Mr. Romney is the GOP's "most important leader."

One third of Republicans support the tea party so strongly that they describe themselves as part of the movement more than they identify as Republicans. Among this group, Mr. Gingrich is considered the GOP's "most important leader"—ahead of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has tied herself closely to tea-party candidates this year.

The final third supports the tea party but identifies more as Republicans. Ms. Palin and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee are cited as top leaders most often among this group.

And that's why I say it's a good job by the WSJ.

Take it elsewhere. That big government abortionist whore of a politician is not wanted on FR. KMA if you don’t like it.

A week from Wednesday, we’ll be discussing the victories at the polls. Will we be talking about how Mitt Romney energized the party and brought them out in force? Will we talk about how Newt drew thousands to rallies and invigorated the electorate. I don’t think so.

We will probably be talking about Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Mark Levin, and Tea Party Express and how they used the Republican Party as the vehicle for bringing conservatives back into government.

The left will be talking about them too, saying that if Sarah hadn’t gotten involved, the Republicans would have won bigger. It will be her fault for every Republican loss. It took courage to get involved and lesser politicians, like Romney, waited on the sidelines until the victors were known.

We have a week left and lots of work to do, but after the election, we won’t forget who brought us to the party.
