Meek isn’t dropping out - he owes nothing to Crist.Crist is far too egocentric to drop out. I’m watching the clock

We’ve been hearing this for months and nothing has happened.
With a week to go, it’s way too late to have any effect either way.
I think Crist is toast, and the Baraqqis will have to find another “independent” POTUS candidate for 2012 to covertly fund.

There’s no loser like a sore loser. Effing RINOs need to be run outta Dodge!

Yep, this past election has taught me to NEVER vote for a RINO, even if he/she is running against a Democrat. At least if the Democrat wins, then that particular RINO will be gone forever. Then we can try again in the next primary season. If McCain had been elected, we would be in disarray (as we were in the last quarter of the Bush years) and there would be true civil war within the party instead of just a good house cleaning.

their names are already on the ballot and the voting has already started, nothing will save that RINO now.

I know this rumor’s been flying around for a couple, three weeks- it’s a ploy by Crist. As a Floridian I hold him responsible for turning the momentum McCain’s way in the primary season down here for 2008- I will never forget, nor forgive him.

He’s been a lousy governor and never had an original idea of his own. I despise him, can you tell? :)

I agree, too late to matter enough.

Still, I would not be at ALL surprised to see either Meek or Crist drop out, endorse the other ... and then *coincidentally* be appointed ambassador or given some other sinecure before 2012 ends.

No reason to believe that republicans supporting Crist would switch to vote for Meeks. The democrats probably would go back to Meeks, but if it is clear Crist isn’t going to win anyway, I expect the democrats WILL vote for Meeks just because he’s their democrat and they won’t want to look like racists.

And I can’t imagine the 20% still supporting Meeks to jump to Crist, who they see as the spoiler keeping them from winning with their chosen candidate. At least not the blacks — and Crist would need the entire 20%, and then some, to be sure of beating Rubio.

Plus, this close to election? They’ve already had early voting so people are already splitting the vote, and they can’t change machines, and it would be hard for them to get paperwork out to tell their supporters to vote for the other candidate at this point.

Frankly, if I was a Rubio supporter, I’d be pushing this story for all it’s worth, since it will tend to depress voters who might think their chosen candidate is going to drop out.

A lot of the Meeks vote would just sit it out...There is not much evidence a candidate can transfer his vote to another!!

I think Crist should be crucified first before we see if he resurrects.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Yes, they would sit it out. Which is precisely why they can't have Kendrick Meek drop out. If his group of democrats stays home, Alex Sink, the democrat gubernatorial candidate who is in a much closer race, would be doomed.

Hasn’t early voting already started in FL? If so, many votes have already been cast for both Crist and Meek.
