“State and U.S. taxpayers coughed up a staggering $35.7 million this year in free emergency health care for more than 52,000 illegal aliens in Massachusetts...”

Way to go Mitt Romney! Woo Hoo! What? You say you’re a conservative? Oh...okay. I’ll take your word for it...NOT!

The “free ERs” have been closing in CA and here in NJ as well. As the states cut reimbursements for these services, the hospitals went into the red; as a result, they’ve been closing their emergency rooms while still operating the hospital itself. You bet you ass when you show up there, you have an appointment and the means to pay (at least a real name & address).

“A little over $300 per visit? I call bull on that number.”

Not everyone has MINOR medical problems.

Gun shot wounds, stabbings, car accidents - all these are over #300 a visit. If we didn’t ALLOW ILLEGALS to be here, the amount would be lower. Some states are wanting ILLEGALS to VOTE.

It will be higher. The government won’t tell the truth on this.

“Incorporating illegal immigrants into any type of government-sponsored health care is legitimizing their presence here,’’ said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the conservative Center for Immigration Studies, which favors stricter immigration policies. “It’s a kind of piecemeal amnesty.’’

Added state Rep. Robert Hedlund (R-Weymouth), “It’s just another example in this state of working people paying the bills, and some people availing themselves of the benefits we have in the commonwealth.’’

A little over $300 per visit? I call bull on that number.

No kidding.
Probably what the hospital recoups from the gov. The rest of the bill is added to the other paying patients.
That wouldn't even cover the triage nurse's assessment.
An x-ray would cost thousands. Then there is the separate bill from the hospitalist, radiologist, orthopedic Dr.
You couldn't get a stitch for $300.

Here in Queens, New York at least 4 hospitals, three of them Catholic, have closed within the last several years because illegals were using them for primary health care. Couple this with their failure to pay hospital bills by using false IDs and giving phony names and addresses and you can see one of the immediate effects of illegal immigration. That three of these hospitals were Catholic is not surprising since they are the primary choice of Hispanic illegals when seeking health care.

Those major things run into the thousands. If they are fudging numbers its a major scandal. It would not surprise me if they are doing so this close to the election.

As i just replied to someone else,if they are making up numbers then it will be a scandal of major porportions. Where are the intrepid reporters investigating this? Maybe Dervals opponent should call him out on that number.

If they can identify them with that precision, why hasn’t ICE been notified and the illegals deported? MA is a sanctuary state.

Illegal aliens just run up government deficits that Americans won’t run up.

Palin supports amnesty. Palin Univision interview on amnesty

The amnesty supporters don't call it the "A" word. Instead, it is called an earned path to citizenship, i.e., pay a fine, learn English, and get to the back of the line. The reason they don't use the "A" word is that the American people are against it.

You can’t count an interview when she was McCain’s running mate, but I agree her position earlier this year was weak. I think she’s getting better on it the more she hangs with the tea party crowd.

She endorsed McCain over JD. And McCain has not changed his stance on amnesty. Now he calls it “regularization of status.” Palin’s association with McCain and her stance on amnesty will hurt her future political ambitions.

It’s an old story now, but I was dismayed by her support for McCain, too. And I agree, he’s changed his rhetoric, not his position.

Again, my sense is that she’s toughening on immigration, but I expect we’ll know better by the spring when/if she launches her campaign.

I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school K thru 8 and was an alter boy for 3 years.

I am sick to death of the Catholic do-gooders. Let the illegals live in your houses, schmucks.

That's why people that get apoplectic about Mittens becoming president are out of their collective minds.

No way, no way will that ever happen. Just the word “RomneyCare” dooms him to the ash bin of would be contenders.
