Coons was sued in 2005 for using his position to harass, defame and intimidate attorney Thomas S. Neuberger.

Wow, you looking for a libel suit? Or are you a member of Coons' campaign just trying to smear conservatives for making things up and posting misleading information? Or an attorney looking to encourage broad fishing expeditions?

Note: "At all times relevant to this matter, defendant Thomas P. Gordon was the County Executive of defendant New Castle County and defendant Sherry L. Freebery was the Chief Administrative Officer (“CAO”) of the same. Presently, defendant Christopher A. Coons is the County Executive of defendant New Castle County and defendant David W. Singleton is the CAO."

"Over the last several years, plaintiff has filed and prosecuted a large number of lawsuits against Individual Defendants and New Castle County on behalf of numerous police officers and other government employees of New Castle County."

Plaintiff also asserts that the Individual Defendants discussed his private medical information with numerous other individuals and during county government meetings”

So? Chris Coons was not an Individual Defendant. I guess you didn't even read the very first sentence:

"On December 29, 2005, plaintiff Thomas S. Neuberger filed a complaint against defendants Thomas P. Gordon and Sherry L. Freebery individually (“Individual Defendants”); Christopher A. Coons and David W. Singleton in their official capacities as County Executive and Chief Administrative Officer respectively (“Incumbent Defendants”), and New Castle County."
Finally, "(1) Plaintiff’s claims against defendants Christopher A. Coons and David W. Singleton are DISMISSED;"

Quite easily dismissed, I might add, though IANAL.

THOMAS S. NEUBERGER : CIVIL ACTION
:
v. ::
THOMAS P. GORDON, individually; :
SHERRY FREEBERY, individually; :
CHRISTOPHER A. COONS, in his official :
capacity as County Executive; DAVID W. : NO. 05-916-TNO
SINGLETON, in his official capacity as Chief :
Administrative Officer; and NEW CASTLE :
COUNTY

Coons was named a defendant and it was only dismissed under ‘official immunity’.

I see your point that Coons was not an ‘individual defendent’.
IANAL either.

You are totally misrepresenting it.

The plaintiff sued the county and the people he accused of releasing information. Also, the people who were in the offices at the time of the suit were named as "Incumbent Defendants".

The defendants/court argued/decided that this was duplicative, to sue the individual defendants (who were actually accused), the county, and the current holders of office. (Another issue was the idea of suing a government body versus individuals.)

Not a word in there says that Chris Coons had anything to do with this, or that the plaintiff even claimed he did! Chris Coons just happened to take office between the alleged incident and the filing.

(All opinion, of course..as I said, IANAL. :-)

The amount of denial in this thread depresses me.

Watch out..next comes the accusations that you must be a RINO just because you believe character counts and that conservatives should be principled.

She handled the interview itself just fine. That’s what makes this seem so weird.

You don't know Christine O'Donnell and Company.

Not an issue whatsoever — yet another stupid move by her ham-handed, amateurish staff. If this woman ends up losing (God forbid) she need look no further than her inner office to figure out why.

Like the guy claiming to be a lawyer from one of her horrid previous campaigns arguing in an Internet forum?

Here's some more classic Matt "Moron" Moran, modeling the classy behavior of a professional Campaign Manager...

O'Donnell Campaign gets Aggressive (try skipping right to 2:30 to boost the creepiness factor)
Now let's add a slice of Evan Queitsch

Yes, that's the same Evan Queitsch who has this fun little bit of video history...

Note to campaigns...when you try to film a campaign ad at an event in public that was supposed to be apolitical and then have people wanting to video you, it's not really appropriate to harass them. When a campaign manager and staff have nothing better to do, something's a bit wrong with the way you run things.

I’m afraid you’re right though.

The judge refers sometimes to “individual defendents” which excludes Coons, and other times to “defendents” which includes Coons.
Well, from close reading it appears that was merely sloppiness on his part.

Once this campaign season is over, we in the conservative movement are going to have to clean a lot of detritus out of the stables. When I consulted at ALG, they had a sociopathic political director who singlehandedly cost us potential election victories across the country.

She was already done, so yeah, this is a non-issue.
