Armey: Clinton, Gingrich had affair 'bond' By: Andy Barr October 28, 2010 05:23 PM EDT

Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey claims Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich developed a “bond” over the affairs they had in office, swapping stories over wine and cigars.

“Clinton found out about the Gingrich affair and called Newt over to the White House for a private meeting between the two of them,” Armey said in an interview with the World Magazine posted Thursday.

“Clinton said, ‘You and I are alike.’ Which meant, shut up about Monica or I'll start telling your story,” Armey said. “Newt and Clinton actually developed sort of a bond over it.”

Gingrich, the former Republican speaker of the House, attacked the former Democratic president for his affair with Monica Lewinsky and was later exposed as having had his own affair at the time.

“They had many meetings that we didn't know about where they'd drink wine and smoke cigars and talk about their girlfriends,” said Armey,

This was talked about on FR back in the 90’s. Newt had many congressional investigations into the clinton crime machine shut down or severely curtailed in scope. Both are scum.

Klinton propably gave Newtus one of his “dirty cigars” and was laughing every time Newt brought it to his lips to puff on it.

One of several reasons that Newt should never be nominated by the GOP.

At the time I noticed that, over night, Gingrich went from a hard-charger showing Clinton no mercy, to suddenly wanting to find common ground with the guy.

I said then, out loud, that Clinton had something on Gingrich. Which, as it turned out, he did.

At one time I’d have said Gingrich was going to remake Washington and then live in the White House. He blew it, and he’ll never get it back.

Well the bit of difference would be that Clinton lied about it, under oath, while being sued for sexual harassment.

It’s possible but how or why would Armey be privy to secret personal conversation? I think Armey is guessing.

“They had many meetings that we didn't know about where they'd drink wine and smoke cigars and talk about their girlfriends,” said Armey ...

So how did Dick find out? When and from whom?

This is one of those "something happened but I don't know exactly what so I'm going to let may imagination take me where it wants" stories.

You know, the sort of thing that you hear about J. Edgar Hoover or Lyndon Johnson or Nixon or the Kennedys.

And as one commenter noted, there just had to be a cigar somewhere in the story ...

Can you imagine how compromised Obama is as compared to Clinton and Gingrich. A national nightmare with a Narcissist who will do anything to hold power.
