$3,800 more...WTF!? We have a crisis in this country and it’s called “BIG, corrupt government”.
My wealthy, miserly uncle always used to say the secret to wealth was to not pay taxes. Legally, of course. If the government pushes to get more, and if the new Congress cannot reverse it immediately, we must adapt on our own and find better ways to use the tax code defensively. And, BTW, this very phenomena is *exactly* why tax revenue goes down, not up, when there is confiscatory taxation. Our ideologue-in-chief and his minions are victims of an arrested intellectual maturation process, and apparently do not yet see the economy as a natural system with predictable, intractable behaviors. It would be easier to legislate against gravity.
It's likely Congress will come up with some 2000 page half-ass adjustment that nobody can figure out.
We’ll pay $2000 more in taxes, plus our health insurance is going up $2400 a year, plus we’ll likely pay the new out-of-pocket costs of $2800 a year due to a recurring medical condition my daughter has, plus we’ll lose $1600 worth of child tax credit.
Between 2010 and 2011 we’ll be down $8800 and I don’t know where we’re going to find it....
