The Tax Me More State (California)
Wall Street Journal ^ | OCTOBER 29, 2010 | opinion

The Tax Foundation announced this week that California has the second worst business tax climate of the 50 states, with only New York more hostile to employers. Congratulations, but it gets worse. If a pair of ballot measures pass next week, the Golden State could soon take the tax lead and make even Albany look like Hong Kong.

Proposition 24 would raise $1.3 billion of new taxes on businesses, while Proposition 25 would allow the state legislature to pass budgets and tax increases with a simple majority vote, instead of the current mandated two-thirds supermajority.

Just in case you haven't already voted by mail, article worth reading and considering RE: Propositions 24 and 25.

We are headed for the worst business tax climate in all 50 states. Are we lame or simply stupid?

If Whitman were smart, she would lose and avoid the disaster that is coming in Californika... California is the least democratic state in the Union. With only 80 house members, its districts are almost as large as the US house districts. Reps don't have to walk their districts and hold town halls, they just take large special interest money and run big media. Term limits failed in Californika because the districts are so LARGE that the special interests (public unions) just anoint the next person...

On top of that, the Governor has very little power in California. Even though Arnold had the people behind him he learned quickly who controls California (too bad he did not resign, but played the game).

This is why California has numerous ballot initiatives- it is the only way for the people to have say in their government. Well at least until the tyrants on the federal court over turn the ballot initiatives.

If one is still permitted to quote the Bible-——
“Tis better to Give than Receive”
In other words..
It’s better that taxPAYERS GIVE so the parasites can RECEIVE.
Now the parasites have realized they can vote themselves the money of others. Good luck California.

Maybe if they legalize ALL street drugs and dispense them they can tax them and absolve their debt.

They may as well do this as most of the people in CA aren’t functioning mentally in the here and now as it is.
