Actually, many of the people I spoke with who voted for Obama did so specifically BECAUSE he was black. They were voting FOR the skin color of the candidate for reasons having to do with history, white guilt, and “breaking the color barrier.” A lot of those voters saw the 2008 election as a “Jackie Robinson” moment.

Well, that feeling has now evaporated. A lot of those “skin color” voters now just consider Obama to be a typical politician, and not a very good one at that, with ideas that are repugnant to American culture and America’s future. Those voters are joined by the rest of us, who didn’t care about pigment in the first place.

I still wish that the first black president would have been a Reagan-style conservative. Too bad we got Karl Marx with a sun tan.
