Authorities should dig deeper after bomb found (Sept UPS Dubai plane crash related to terror plot?)

The discovery of a US-bound bomb at a Dubai air cargo terminal on Friday should prompt authorities to dig deeper into the causes of a UPS jumbo jet crash outside the city eight weeks ago.

On September 3, the 747 cargo plane crashed after a fire broke out on board shortly after takeoff and its two pilots struggled to land the plane at Dubai.

The initial investigation into the crash — into a military base next to the Dubai-Al Ain Road — that killed the two pilots on impact, identified lithium batteries on board as being potentially to blame. However one terrorism expert in the US told Gulf News the investigation needed to be reviewed. Connect the dots

"I think it would be very prudent to connect the dots in this incident," said Dr Max Abrahms, a fellow at the Dickey Centre for International Understanding at Dartmouth College and on the Empirical Studies of Conflict project at Princeton University and the Hoover Institute.

"It seems like common sense now and clearly there are similarities between the crash and this latest incident," said Abrahms, an expert on terrorism and counter-terrorist strategies.

Test run to see if the device could be detonated in the cargo hold by cell phone from the ground?

How about a few test runs in the opposite direction, you send a lithium or any other powered explosive devise this way, we send a cruise missile topped with a W-80 full tritium hyped back. Problem solved.

Sorry, but there is no connection to the 747 crash and the suspicious packages that originated in Yemen.

Shipping lithium batteries aborad airplanes has been an issue for several years now, and there have been numeous incidents of them being involved in fires aboard airplanes and at airports...

Someone laughed somewhere and thought, “We can do as we please, and the American Government and the MSM will cover for us. How sweet.”

Doesn’t the American Government love the American people anymore?

I'm asking those who know better than I. Wouldn't the cell phone battery die in flight? I mean, mine goes from fully charged to dead in about 2 hours of searching for a signal. Also, if you set it to not search for a signal (airplane mode), then it won't be able to be set off by a phone call.

Would the motivation be to crash the aircraft on, or shortly after take-off, or detonate the packages en-route on the ground (while in the truck or at the intended destination for max effect)?

Nope, not the 0Dumbo Gov.

Never in my lifetime have I ever thought that MY govt. would be against me. My eyes are open wide now.

0Dumbo and his policies MUST be stopped, else, our country becomes like England. (Hey England, how are those muzzies contributing to your country?)

They don’t need to detonate it from the ground or on a cargo plane when they’ve got so many willing suicide bombers who are willing to do the same thing on a passenger plane (i.e. the underwear bomber...)

“Lithium batteries” smacks of a Clinton style coverup. All we need is Ron Brown’s body to show up in the wreckage.

Remember how we almost let a Dubai-based corporation take over administration of our ports, and the “free trade” fanatics defended that choice?

So you’ve confirmed that none of the Yemeni suspects or their collaborators that were arrested today sent a package that was on the September UPS crash?

This event brings back memories of the explosion involving a TWA aircraft off the east coast several years ago. Are/were both a hint of things to come yet ignored, written off or rationalized away?
