Next for GOP leaders: Stopping Palin

Top Republicans in Washington and in the national GOP establishment say the 2010 campaign highlighted an urgent task that they will begin in earnest as soon as the elections are over: Stop Sarah Palin.

Interviews with advisers to the main 2012 presidential contenders and with other veteran Republican operatives make clear they see themselves on a common, if uncoordinated, mission of halting the momentum and credibility Palin gained with conservative activists by plunging so aggressively into this year’s midterm campaigns.

There is rising expectation among GOP elites that Palin will probably run for president in 2012 and could win the Republican nomination, a prospect many of them regard as a disaster in waiting.

I wonder who the "main" contenders are?

If they're the "main" ones, why are they so worried about a "minor" one?

Next stop after elections stop GOP leadership and operatives like Rove from destroying the nation by reaching across the aisle and driving a stake through the heart of liberty...

Rove and GOP clowns - you bet... They have to be stopped. Actually, they will stop themselves if they go after Palin. Seems only right...

Yep, she is living in their heads now as well.

This story is about the staffers and not the elected officials. Seems their little plan to force “experienced” staffers on the new people coming to town is blowing up big time.

The entire political establishment is quaking right now after her appearance on FOX yesterday. Its almost a damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t in their view right now because of the power she is ammassing with her political choices and unabashed willingness to call a spade a spade. I loved it when she called out the CBS affiliate by referring to them as “corrupt bastards”.

She seemed to indicate she doesn’t need the presidency but she was most definately going to be ever present should the right candidate(s) appear. It appears her immediate target is the media and I am loving it.

2012 GOP presidential candidates may find the tea pot too hot to handle.

GOP elites thinking of their place in the global governance need to go, along with their Democrat counterparts.

If the candidates she endorsed don’t win in Alaska and Delaware it will be a major setback.

Considering how many candidates she endorsed who went from obscurity to a commanding lead, I don't think a sensible person will draw that conclusion. Does Sarah really have to maintain a 100% perfect record to avoid being savaged by the "guardians of democracy" in our objective media? [Sarcasm?]

Populist(noun): a believer in or advocate of the rights, wisdom, or virtue of the common people. For example: William Jennings Palin.

I’m not so sure about that.

Many old time GOPers are not happy that the TEA party is making them work.

Gerrymandering worked for years, and their little castles were all set in stone.

It is all coming down around them.

I think McCain himself wishes he never opened the Pandora’s Box of Palin, but folks like me are sure glad he did.

Now, the GOP will work with dems to keep 3rd party folks off of primary tickets. I bet it will be priority number 1 after this election cycle.

Yeppers, they are really and truly afraid of Sarah. More importantly though, it is what she represents....which is loss of personal power and influence..GREAT power and GREAT influence. That power thing.... and the money and lifestyle that goes along with it...must be really hard to look into the near future and see themselves as ordinary reps of the people.... So, they gotta kill what they see as the tip of the spear coming at them....Sarah.

Well, they had better look out, cause right behind Sarah are legions of US, WE THE PEOPLE... and thank God!!! so many of us have learned during this past year that, together, we can force our employees (that’s YOU, elites, in case you didn’t realize it) to listen to us... the boss. We have been awakened...and we are WIDE awake.

Hey, Repub elites/GOP Leaders.... this doesn’t end after Tuesday... Tuesday is just the beginning....You listen to US, or you will be taken down too. Don’t doubt me...don’t doubt us.

Rove: "It's THIS guy's fault! I told him Palin would be trouble!"
McCain: "Hey, she got me my reelection - that's all that matters!"
