Here are two versions of Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, on video.

In one video, Yusuf Islam is singing Peace Train at the Jon Stewart-Stephen Colbert rally in DC.

In the other video, he is calling for the murder of author Salman Rushdie for insulting the prophet Mohammed.

So glad someone’s doing this.

If Beck had someone who was singing about peace but had famously called for someone’s murder (and then lied about it later), it’d be all over the MSM.

LEt us see.... We have a "Restore the Sanity" gathering in which the entertainment is a guy who bit off the head of a bat, Ozzy Osbourne, and also includes a guy who endorsed the murder of a novelist, Cat Stevens aka Yusef Islam.

Perhaps Stewart's gathering should better be called "Theatre of the Absurd."

Cat Stevens is a bad guy. He has done a lot more than just call for the murder of Salman Rushdie.

By the way, Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens, when asked about his comments on Salman Rushdie recently denied that he ever said such a thing. Too bad for him that we have something called YouTube now. In the dinosaur media days, he could commit taqiyya and get away with it. Now his lies are apparent...to everyone except Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart...

Most singers from that time were into defining their own morality (another way of saying "If *I* like it it's good, if *I* don't you have to stop"). The totalitarian impulse never dies.
