That’s the same arm patch I wore on my U.S. Army uniform when I was stationed in Germany in 1970-71.
It was refered to a the USAEURA insignia (U.S. ARMY EUROPE).
I just came across an envelope full of military patches a few weeks ago while cleaning out my desk and found several of them, along with olive drab name patches and my E-5 rank patches.
That picture is a keeper!

I still get a chill thinking of the note he had in his pocket that said
he took total responsibility if the landing had failed.
Too bad we don’t always have Presidents with that level of intestinal fortitude
