Iowa ousts 3 justices over gay marriage
Omaha World Herald ^ | Nov. 3, 2010 | C. David Kotok

Posted on 11/03/2010 4:33:13 AM PDT by Mean Daddy

Iowa voters punished three justices of the Iowa Supreme Court for their 2009 ruling legalizing same-sex marriages. Advertising

The results do nothing to overturn the controversial 7-0 ruling by the court but sent a loud message that a majority of Iowa voters remained angry that the court — not the Legislature — had overturned the state’s ban on same-sex marriages.

How about sending another case to the Supreme Court, or asking them to reconsider the infamous one, to see if the others got the message?

This was a pleasant surprise, since there had been almost zip about the "no" vote locally (this is, after all, Eastern Iowa)...

Sadly, we still woke up with Braley, Boswell and Loebsack representing much of the state. Not only does that stink in itself, but now I have to confess to all the Cheddarheads around me that Wisconsin now sucks less than Iowa. THAT is a bitter pill, I assure you.

The homo-leftists will claim that this ouster was motivated by "animus" and will sue to have the vote thrown out.

Congrats to my home state! Not only did they toss out that jerk Culver (convincingly I may add) but the gave a just response to irrisponsible judicial activism.

Kudos Hawkeye State!

In the old days, tar and feathers would be in order and I'm not sure that the old tried and true should not be used again.

I expect ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN/MSNBC will have a “press embargo” on this story.

“Kudos Hawkeye State!”

It's actually the Cyclone State. Only a few old hippies are Hawkeye fans.
And they (Hawkeye fans) probably all voted to keep the 3 judges.

Geeze I thought we’d win more if only we had more gays in the party. This was very good news.
