Put it this way: Meg was not nearly conservative enough to make a difference in the state’s financial condition. Neither is the California legislature. The coming disasters will be on Jerry Brown’s watch, and it will take such disasters to turn liberals into conservatives.
I never used to believe too much in the belief that you should seek to advance by allowing the other side to fail, but in the case of California, I think that's probably the only way anything positive is going to get done. Ditto. Michigan finally elected a GOP governor after decades of economic decay. NJ went thru the same process due to extremely high property taxes. Only MA, CA amd NY refuse to change. Give them time as state pensions, high taxes and illegal immigrants will crush the state. One thing great about recessions/depressions, even liberal moderates will get it.
