Dem Jerry McNerney up 121 votes to GOP's David Harmer in East Bay (California)
SF CHRON ^ | Lockhead

In the gerrymander-gone-awry California 11th congressional district, sprawling across four counties from Gilroy to Lodi, incumbent Democrat Jerry McNerney is ahead 121 votes to GOP challenger David Harmer:

McNerney 82,124 votes, 47.5%

Harmer 82,003 votes 47.4%

A third party spoiler, Tracy's David Christensen of the conservative American Independent Party, has 8,809 or 5.1%

That's with all precincts reporting as of 5:41 a.m. It would appear that Harmer would have won had Christensen not been in the race.

This is really too damn bad. I’m very impressed with Harmer, he was one county away from me being able to vote for him. McNerney is the very caricature of a true zero, a nothing.

Why doesn’t “caricature” have an “h” as the second letter?

Just another mystery.

my guess is that with an ‘h’ it would be chari-cature
chari = character, and cature, hem, probably means something in French.

There are alot of absentee ballots yet to be counted from San Jauquin County which is Pombo's old stomping ground.

Harmer still has a shot at this.

Harmer got my vote. As for the 3rd party tool who got 5%, normally you get Green party types who pull more votes from the Ds but that didn’t happen in this case, which makes it painful to see this. Anyone who voted 3rd party in this district is a flipping moron.

Whiny Republicans who support losers seem to be the norm around here.

It is one thing to lose a tough contest; it is another to blame the voters for being too dumb to know better.

Need watchers at the Registrar of Voters offices in Santa Clara, San Joaquin, Alameda, and Contra Costa Counties to make sure no shenanigans take place (see CA bulletin board)

*** Emergency Need for Registered Republicans: Help in the Recount Effort and make sure that the Harmer Election is not stolen. ***

Your help is needed to monitor the Election Ballot Recount effort by Election Department workers, for the Harmer-McNerney CD11 Congressional Race. This effort is going on currently and continues every day for as long as it takes to recount some 50,000 Absentee Ballots; at the Registrar of Voters offices in Santa Clara County. You will watch the workers to insure that fraud does not take place.

Schedule which, days, and times that you can work. Contact Chris Del Beccaro at Harmer HQ by calling 925-415-1178, and leave a message if need be. Harmer staff will monitor this phone number between 9 am and 9 pm every day. You may also email to chris@harmerforcongress.com.
