Thanks for the responses FRiends - even those of you who think I'm an idiot for asking the question.

I know Katherine Harris was Sec'y of State and oversaw the operational details of the recount. As my FReeper name indicates, I was here in 2000 - not on DU.

My post was meant to raise the question of appearances and contrast the feelings that many of us have about this Nevada race to the feelings that many on the other side had about the Florida race of 2000. I was actually trying to help us see that if we spend the next six months harping about Nevada, we are no different than some of the idiots who continued to ramble about a stolen election in Florida.

Per some of the statistical analyses that have been posted here on FR, I think there are real indications that some serious fraud took place in Nevada. We'll let any investigations play out and move ahead from there.

You make a good point. Most of the voters who made a difference in most of the elections this week probably think that both parties are equally steeped in voter fraud. They see 2000 as an example of Republican voter fraud.

They’re wrong, of course, but retaking the Senate may require convincing them of just how evil the Dems have become.

I don’t think you’re stupid, fellow Texas native. Stupid is defined by most of the people interviewed at the link below. I daresay they voted for candidates like Reid, Boxer, and Brown.
