The airline says the Airbus A380 aircraft, with 433 passengers and 26 crew aboard, made an emergency landing and all on board are safe and well.

Christopher Lee told ABC Radio's PM program that there was an explosion about 15 minutes after take-off.
"After leaving Singapore there was an explosion, there was a loud bang followed by another one, and then a rattling of the cabin," he said.
"Some of the passengers then alerted cabin staff to the fact that there was an explosion, there was smoke or something to that effect.
"At that [point] we were still on take-off, the seatbelt signs were still on, the cabin staff came to inspect very quickly and then obviously alerted the captain."
But Mr Lee says the landing was not too bad.
"I must say I fly on many international flights and probably do, if not one a week, sometimes two a week, and it's one of the smoothest landings I've had actually," he said.
Qantas spokeswoman Olivia Wirth told ABC News 24 there was an issue with one of the plane's engines.
"There was an issue with engine number two and that engine was shut down and the aircraft arrived safely," she said.
"We are now looking into the situation and we have engineers on board currently assessing the engine.
"All 433 passengers and 26 crew, in fact we had three captains on board this aircraft... all are safe and well."
Ms Wirth says engineers are currently working overtime to assess the engine and determine exactly what went on.
"We're looking it it. It is obviously a very important issue for us, but most important is that the passengers and crew have arrived safely," she said.
All the passengers have now disembarked from the plane.

cover story?
Unlikely. There have been a series of problems involving these Rolls Royce Trent engines, including a similar failure on a 787.
August failure of a similar engine on a pre-production 787.
Gee, this could have been the 43,776 th center fuel tank explosion on a 747. As you know it’s very routine for these tanks to overheat on the runway and then blam. They’ve been dropping out of the sky for years ever since that first one over Long Island. You remember that one don’t ya?
Looks like there are disc parts on the ground.

So the rainman was incorrect!
I know, I already read it on Wiki.

Singapore Airlines inspecting it’s A380’s Rollers...
It’s not a busco problem, its a roller problem.
B had the same problems with their rollers on the 787 [1]. Qantas had the same problem on a roller equipped 747-400 recently ( 08/31/2010 ) [2]. This ain’t no busco problem. Otherwise B would only build junk too.

Well, they are all RR’s, but they are 3 different RR’s.
Hole in the A380’s wing and fuel tank. Much better pic that earlier one.
