Bush says he approved waterboarding: report

Former US president George W. Bush says in his new memoir he personally gave the go-ahead for CIA officers to waterboard self-confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, according to Thursday's Washington Post.

"Damn right," Bush said when asked by the Central Intelligence Agency whether they should employ the coercive and controversial interrogation technique against the terror suspect, the Post reported, citing an unnamed person who has read the book.

“...acknowledgment could theoretically expose him to prosecution...”

At which point, every single 9/11 SURVIVOR (ie., all of US) in America may bring a counter suit against WHOEVER is stupid enough to challenge the President’s (CIC) decisions in wartime. Why not do this on the grounds (if nothing else) that the prosecution is presenting a frivolous lawsuit against a President who was executing his DUTY!!!

We elect Presidents with the explicit understanding that they are capable of and have a duty to issue orders to protect America in wartime.

Despite his many faults, there was never any doubt that Bush loved this country and knew the threat facing us was deadly serious and required action. Waterboarding was the right thing to do, and Bush knew it.

God bless him for his unabashed patriotism.

“Some human rights experts told the Washington Post that Bush’s memoir acknowledgement could theoretically expose him to prosecution, as it is seen by legal experts as a crime”

and 9/11 loss of life and property wasnt? Holder and Barraqqi have intentionally opened the doors to the UN coming in here for just that purpose. Fishing for Bush.

Get those legal experts on KSM, and get the bugger stoned.

I really believe that the Dems used the troops as weapons against him to pass a lot of their agenda.

Who cares? The MSM have discredited themselves, there is no turning back for them. The only ones who care what they have to say is themselves.

A real LEADER.

A real leader would have defended our troops when they were attacked here at home. Instead GWB hid under the desk in the Oval Office, letting our military twisting in the wind with only Limbaugh, Hannity, and a few others to defend them.

Evidently you missed the months of attacks on the servicemen in the Senate Chamber, and in the court room.

To name but one of dozens of incidents, and I’ve forgotten the Senators name, he has since (thankfully) died following surgery in a MILITARY hospital, but he attacked 5 Marines who had to spend months on jail and more than a year in court to defend their actions in Iraq. The final trial just ended with a not guilty verdict, same as the other four.

There was no defense from GWB. After willingly fighting in the war GWB authorized, he abandoned them to the enemy within, Liberals.

It was left to the military surgeon to extract justice from the Senator.

Bull puckey!

What a shame you weren’t in the White House instead,
juggling everything he had on his plate, in time of
acute terror risks and war, in the face of the most
despicable, continuous congressional and media personal
attacks and presidential debasement in our lifetimes.

Golly gee .. we really missed out.

And I bet you feel SO much safer now .. right ?

The Haditha marines. In fairness though, GWB could not have intervened because he’s in the chain of command. He couldn’t even speak publicly about the case.

If algor had been President, how many more Americans would be dead? I thank God daily for His giving us President Bush in the hours when we needed strength, patriotism and character most.
