We need to get some fresh faces out there instead of recycleing the same old names.
He seems good so far, based on his campaign and one nice speech. I guess we've just tossed the whole "experience" thing. We just want our own Obama.
At this point the only thing I'm sure of is: Anybody but Huckabee or Romney.
“Romney, Huckabee or Palin.”
Palin not usually grouped in with the other two.
I’ve been thinking the same thing. The media has already done as much damage to Palin as they possible can and she can still pull 44%. She has nowhere to go but up, IMO.
Palin 2012, period.
“I know hes far too green and hes quite young, but I gotta tell you, I like this Rubio guy.”
Why because he’s Cuban?
Don’t you remember his brush with electoral death when he initially came out against the Arizona law?
He may be authentically conservative, but I think our best bet is to avoid the traps of identity politics and go for the purest conservative next time around.
John barely made it in Ohio. Needs more time to improve his positives. Rubio may be downplayed because the country may not want another Jr. congresscritter for President.
I agree. Definitely one to keep our eyes on. Allen West has impressed me so far as well.
I hope to retake the Senate and hold on to the house ....that's my dream....the White House would be the topper.
Except that Obama won’t be running in 2012. The Dems know that they have to put someone else in. Hillary?
Rubio came out against the AZ law? Do you have a link for that?
If this is the case, then damn.
Palin is fully vetted, that’s for sure.
We have a great bench growing, but no one seems to be the perfect fit. On paper, Jindal is perfect, but he has been pretty lackluster on tv. Might be a tough sell. Chris Christie would absolutely destroy Obama, but he is a first termer who likely won’t run, and lacks the conservatism on many topics that folks here would want. Mitch Daniels is perfect on paper, but lacking in the presence to run a campaign. Jeb Bush would be a great candidate, except for his family name. The House has some great guys - Pence and Ryan specifically, but it is near impossible to run for President from the House. Palin is out there, but is a real risk to just be a replay of 2008 dynamics. I doubt he would run, but DeMint may be a good one. I hate seeing Senators run, but he has the national draw to pull it off. He also hasn’t expressed interest.

In fact, it has nothing to do with his being Cuban, and I take umbrage at the suggestion.

He instantly backtracked, but as you know initial statements usually have the most truth.
I’m not saying this disqualifies him in my book, but he would do himself a world of good by sponsoring some hard-nosed enforcement legislation.
This really doesnt mean anything. Two years is a long time in the political world.
June of 2009 showed Democrats would gain 3 seats in the House. Look what happened...
Palin-DeMint or Palin-Christie?
