President Obama's Democratic party lost the midterm elections this week and he could very well lose his bid for a second term in 2012, according to a shocking poll released today.

Obama would lose in a hypothetical race against former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee 52 percent to 44 percent, according to CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney would also defeat Obama 50 percent to 45 percent in the race for the White House in 2012.

I like Huck...you don’t think he could get an economic whiz in there to run with him? Do Pence and Daniels have the name cred at this point?

Hell, for economic policy how about Rand Paul? He could be like Obama...sit in the Senate for a couple years and then think he’s ready to be President.

In Paul’s case, he may be. :)

Romney will be a credible threat, don’t dismiss him. He is very bright, a good debater, and has bottomless funds. I don’t trust him as far as I can kick him, but he will be very difficult to knock off in a loaded primary with multiple conservatives splitting the vote.

The swill will be that any RINO can beat Obamao, but conservatives need not apply. No thanks! RINO’s need not apply for my vote.

Palin is third leading CNN to say “it may be too early to count Barack Obama out, particularly if Sarah Palin is his opponent.” “...in a hypothetical matchup with Obama she is arguably the weakest candidate of the top-tier GOP hopefuls.”

"I’m starting to think it will be Palin/DeMint"

How about DeMint/Palin?

"How does President Chris Christie sound?"

It sounds awful to me here in the Garden State, since he's the only thing standing between us and complete Bolshevism.

‘...We need a Patton-style candidate....’

agree. we need someone who will stand up for America and projects a strong persona. seems there are a few good conservatives but they seem to be low key and soft spoken.
i know ‘talking loud’ does not always accomplish a lot but we need someone who is an unabashaed patriotic American, who is smart, someone who can articulate his positions clearly (without a teleprompter), relates to everyday people and someone who speaks with a strong and confident tone.

I pray the Republicans do not have ‘27’(exaggeration...hopefully) candidates who criticize each other and give the Dems ammunition. We NEED to identify ONE good, strong candidate who can definitely WIN against our current campaigner in chief.

With all my opining (lol).....at this time, I cannot think of a candidate who fits my desired person.

In reality ... Mitt would actually beat -0- and beat him bad. Give credit where credit is due, Mitt has a successful business record to run on. Put him up against -0- and he'd win.

Of course at this point you could put a dead cat up against -0- and the dead cat would have a pretty good shot. I would prefer the dead cat actually.

I don't like what Mitt did in Mass. I do like Mitt as a person. I don't like him in politics. I won't approve of anyone that even hints that homosexuality is acceptable behavior.

No.. this time around we need a real conservative. Someone that has a track record of being conservative. That is not Mitt. It is what it is.

I like Jindal a lot -from what I've seen. I think he'd be able to show the shots of him demanding permission to build the sandbars to help protect the beaches from the oil in the gulf. And how -0- wouldn't give permission. I think that would be monsterously powerful image.

Jindal/Palin?

I think Sarah needs to work on her image more. She needs to shake off the McCain cooties from the last election. I'd vote for her, but will middle America?

I'd take a post turtle over Obama. It has no business up there, you know it didn't get there on its own, it doesn't know what to do once it's there, and you know the joker who put it on that post at best did so as a joke. In other words, it would not be much of a change.

I don’t want either Huckabee (Gomer Pyle) or Romney. I don’t trust either one.

Romney spoke at our state convention and I have to tell you, he was VERY good. The problem was that I couldn’t tell if he was sincere. He actually teared up a couple of times.

I want someone new, someone who hasn’t run before or even thought about running.

I agree, but if it is Romney against a pool of conservatives, Romney will likely win. If it is Romney against one conservative, the conservative has a shot.

If say Huck takes the social right, and Palin and DeMint split the tea party vote(or any combination of candidates), Romney is going to run away with it. Same way McCain won it.

Around 1978 there was a poll pitting then President Carter against Reagan. Carter won the poll by 25 points. We all know what happen in 1980. Polls 2 years out are meaning less.
