Why President Obama Will Never Be Barack Obama Again
esquire.com ^ | 11-4-10 | Tom Junod

The most captivating political story of the present moment is not the Republican resurgence but rather the ongoing diminution of President Barack Obama. It is a story that started almost as soon as he took office, took hold with the passage of the stimulus, played itself out during the health-care debate and its aftermath, and reached its inevitable climax on Tuesday night. It is the story not of policy but rather of personality, and what makes it so captivating is its element of mystery. President Obama, after all, was elected by virtue of his personality, which provided not only contrast but novelty, and was grounded in his near-perfect pitch when addressing audiences large and small. Sure, he was cool and cerebral, but he was also confident, almost cocky, because he had the power to summon inspiring rhetoric on command, which meant that he had the power to summon us on command. Though many Americans didn't know very much about him, there was one thing that was never in doubt when we saw and heard Obama on the stump: his ownership of his gift. By the way he carried himself, we could tell that he had always had it, and because he always had it, we could be sure that he always would have it. How could we resist a man who simply by opening his mouth could move mountains — and who had ascended all the way to the presidency by staking his political life on his own eloquence? How could we resist a man who seemed so sure that we could not resist him

He’s not to blame, it’s his teleprompter that let him down.

I had no problem resisting him then as I have no problem resiting him now. Unlike so many shallow and unthinking Americans, I didn’t give a hoot HOW he said things, I actually paid attention to WHAT he said.

You probably remember them too, quotes like:

“Under my plan, utility rates will necessarily skyrocket” and

“Americans cannot have 5% of the worlds population and use 25% of the worlds resources and expect the rest of the world to say that’s OK.”

I knew exactly what the empty suit sock-puppet marxist was then and now. I don’t know what this author is talking about, but nothing about 0bama has diminished for those who actually paid attention.

And not minding what’s his name the other day calling him “dude”. Of course he doesn’t mind, he has no respect for the office, so why would he care if someone else doesn’t? Now his personal supersized ego is a different story.

The author asks how can “we” explain it? Well “we” didn’t get sucked into the hype. The author did. “We” read about Reverend Wright and Obama’s marxist mentors and his ties to a terrorist and his father and his education at a madrasa and . . . we were opposed and never moved. He got suckered.

I don’t know why everyone falls for this myth of his being so rhetorically gifted anyway. He’s not, he spews a lot of vague high-flown phrases whixh mean nothing concrete. He”s little more than a high-end less florid version of Jesse Jackson.

Some people are very easily led.

So now... the rest of us who did NOT get razzle dazzled, are stuck with “O’s” 4 year-long, ‘Coming to America’ nightmare!

Anyone who bought into Obama’s thin gruel is either a racist or a gullible fool.

This article is off base. The writer seems unaware that Barry is bigger than ever. His luxury vacation to India is going to cost a billion dollars in security, hotel and entourage fees. The world hasn’t seen such ostentatious free spending for a Ruler since the Roman Empire. The cost of building King Tut’s tomb probably pales in comparison to Barry’s golden India vacation. Barry is an American Tut and we are all pyramid builders.

Hussein was over-sold as an orator because your typical reporter is a lily white lefty who harbors deep seated prejudices against persons of African heritage. Having grown up in cloistered all white liberal communities, they were surprised that any black man could be well spoken.

How could we resist a man who seemed so sure that we could not resist him?

Same way we resist all those other jerks with unending egos and over-rehearsed pick-up lines. By dumping icewater in his lap.

He’s not to blame, it’s his teleprompter that let him down.

And, actually, it was his teleprompter who was really famous, not Obama. Obama was, er, uh, uh, er...a stammering, inarticulate ninny without it.

I liked this article but what it completely overlooked was that Obama is, was, and will always be...a fake and pretender. It's just that the country and the world have finally peeked behind the curtain.

History, America, and the world will not be kind to Barack Hussein Obama.

Well, Hitler got himself elected, too.

These self-loving pathological malignant narcissists can give some pretty good rabble-rousing speeches—until the stuff hits the fan.

It just beats me why so many people let themselves be hypnotized by these insane demaguogues. Don’t they bother to listen to what they actually SAY?

-—because he had the power to summon inspiring rhetoric on command,——

I am not at all sure that is true. He summons what is prewritten on the teleprompter.

In his acceptance speech, Marco Rubio gave a very inspiring and eloquent speech that seemed off the cuff. There were no prompters and seemingly no notes. The rising hispanic senatorial star will give the burned out Nova a run for his money.

Bingo. Obama only made sense if you were a Marxist, all else who voted for him were the dumbest idiots of all time.
