Indeed. Just compare a speech from a truly gifted orator-say, Winston Churchill-and one from Obama. Churchill’s is full of unforgettable phrases the actual point of which can still be understood across the decades. And I understand that he wrote them himself. Who will remember a thing Obama said except “yes we can” and “I won” decades from now? If they read a speech of his, what will all the vocabulary spewing mean?
He’ll always be Barry to me...
When he was running on “Hope and Change” he could engage in high minded rhetoric without any actual basis in reality. He was a Rorschach drawing that people attributed to the meaning they wanted to attribute. He was the “generic” candidate that always seems to do better in polling than when you fill in an actual name.
Now that he can no longer “vote present”, people see that the actions don't speak any louder than his words. Sound and Fury signifying nothing.

Not only that (i.e. the cost), but has any one question the goal of such trip?
In private sector, we now have to submit justification(s) for business trips/expenses. And a few of them had been deemed unneccessary so ‘net meeting’ or the like were substitute.
What is it that needs Obama’s own presence to travel to India to accomplish? Remember such luxury foreign trip had been planned by personnel way ahead of time and how much did it cost us already?
