“I actually have hopes of him coming around. Seriesly.”
I too would like to see Stewart make a series of jabs at PMSNBC.
The had Geraldine Ferraro. I call that pretty fair and balanced.
Rat Fight!
Yeah, I lijke him too.
I'd guess that he leans left, but is smart enough to recognize that there's plenty of comic fodder on both sides of the aisle. Though FReepers would be loathe to admit it, there are plenty of dumb conservatives out there, too.
Donna Brazil (?sp) was actually openly cheering on camera this past Tuesday night when Barbara Boxer won.
I was flipping between the news channels just for kicks; took CNN out of the rotation at that point. Talk about unprofessional. Big difference, IMHO, between "Analysis" (which is what I was looking for) and "Opinion" (which is what I saw).
Yeah, it was great.
For those who'd like an encore.
There is a huge difference between Fox and MSNBC, and it’s not just left vs right.
My son came in on election night. We turned on MSNBC and he was shocked at how the hosts were very nasty and disrespectful towards republicans. There weren’t even any conservatives on their panel at all.
When we turned to Fox, not only were there liberals there, the fox people were not nasty or mean to them. There was a little good natured ribbing, but in general even Hannity saw how upset the libs were, and didn’t rub it in. My son mentioned how nice the fox hosts were compared to MSNBC.
I guess maybe the biggest inference to draw is that libs don’t demand civility in their discourse and news, while most conservatives do (excluding Savage).
Another thing I saw on their coverage as I remember it was races were shown as names only without the automatic inclusion of REP or DEM. It made a lot of the huge across the board wins by Republican Party candidates less evident to the viewer.
Talk about spin.
Stewart had Chris Wallace on last night and dressed him down as an equivalent of MSNBC.
Wallace could have pointed out that MSNBC modelled itself after Stewart’s show without the humour.
Stewart just backhanded Fox all over the place in that clip. Wallace knew it, but was trying to give an answer without turning into a tit for tat.
I think he gave a great answer. Reality is in the polls, MSNBC (and Stewart) are simply denying reality.
Yeah, Wallace should have asked Stewart for one example of bias at FOX. I bet it would take him 10 seconds to come up with a lame answer.
However, Stewart is entertaining and generally tries to be fair (for a liberal). I also get the feeling his world view is moving our way.
Yes. When he's good, he's very very good.
Stewart doesn’t bother me as much as most, but if you notice, most of his slams against the left are about how they are incompetent at pushing the agenda, not the agenda itself. He did point out Obama is for straight out predator drone murder more than Bush, and a couple other things, but it wasn’t really an indictment of leftist policies.
