Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart Attacks MSNBC Again: 'Honestly, that is Double-A Ball' (Video)
Newsbusters ^ | November 4, 2010 | Jeff Poor

There seems to be a schism between two of the media giants that lefties hold in high regard – the entire MSNBC network and Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart.

After Stewart took a few jabs at MSNBC during his Oct. 30 Washington, D.C. rally, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann took umbrage at the equivalency Stewart drew between his network and the Fox News Channel. In Olbermann’s view, Fox News Channel is a source of evil in the world, while MSNBC is a source of good. However, Stewart, who admittedly sees things from a liberal worldview, questioned MSNBC’s role in damaging political discourse.

Jon Stewart is a hard core lefty who will stop at nothing to do damage America.

Just my opinion of course.

You know, I really can't help but like Jon Stewrt. I think he's hilarious. Do I hate it when he picks on "our" side? Absolutely. But when he skewers the left it is absolutely delicious.

I actually have hopes of him coming around. Seriesly.

Afraid of Jon Stewart? That’s like being afraid of Howdy Doody.

the question is:

Is this a popcorn show, or is it a puppet show?

At least Stewart is funny while he does it. He was also the first mainstream comic to take jabs at Obama after he got elected.

They are all terrified of Stewart.

Sounds that way...
I don't have cable - so I've seen perhaps one clip from his show in the past 2 years (someone once posted a Youtube clip here)...
Yet it seems like he's treated as some grand poobah or sage...
He's a comedian - right?

He doesn't really skewer the left. If he wanted to skewer the losers at MSNBC for instance he wouldn’t dignify them with a false comparison to the wildly popular Fox news.

I think that's an accurate opinion...or was.

In the last few months, he makes me wonder if he is suffering an internal debate with truth and reality. Just some of things he says sometimes.

You could tell in that clip that Stewart has tremendous respect for Wallace and really danced around what he wanted to say. Which was MSNBC was failing because they were trying to be the leftist equivalent to Fox when they should just try to report the news. He then went on to damn Fox with feint praise by saying they are very good at being a right wing mouthpiece. They are polished at it. However, there was this fear of coming right at Wallace in his approach. Wallace really held his own in that exchange and even the leftist audience did not turn against Wallace during the exchange.

He is the most powerful liberal in the media right now.

Even Obama ran to him and cowered.

Agreed! Sort of like my feelings about Berke Breathed: I agreed with about 0.01% of what he said, but at least he was funny (most of the time) with Bloom County... as opposed to Doonesbury, which is about as funny as a sinus infection.

My family is larger than Mr. Stewart’s audience.

Going on Stewart was a bad idea. The White House Communications Office is not very bright.

Young adults do not vote in mid-terms.

Mr. Obama made the same mistake when he went on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.

Ignorance.

Wallace alluded to an Election Night kerfuffle between Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and “Hardball” host Chris Wallace.

Chris Wallace hosts Hardball?

I believe they meant Chris Matthews.

My impression is that Stewart is an old school democrat. He longs for LBJ’s Democrat party, not the counterculture neo-marxist democrat party that emerged from the late 60s and early 70s.

Jon Stewart is funny and has telegenic gifts. But he’s not as influential as he thinks he is.
