You could tell in that clip that Stewart has tremendous respect for Wallace and really danced around what he wanted to say. Which was MSNBC was failing because they were trying to be the leftist equivalent to Fox when they should just try to report the news. He then went on to damn Fox with feint praise by saying they are very good at being a right wing mouthpiece. They are polished at it. However, there was this fear of coming right at Wallace in his approach. Wallace really held his own in that exchange and even the leftist audience did not turn against Wallace during the exchange.

The crazy part is that Fox news is NOT a “right wing mouthpiece”. Nobody is actually unbiased and objective but Fox is probably as close to “fair and balanced” as we have ever had in the news business. Actually I often think Fox has more of a list to port than a list to starboard. Certainly Shepard Smith is no right winger, even Krauthammer is more of a liberal than a real right winger. The clowns at MSNBC are so far to the left that they think anyone who doesn’t have a portrait of Karl Marx in his living room is a right wing extremist. MSNBC doesn’t even bother to make a pretense of being a straight news source. Jon Stewart is supposed to be doing a comedy show but he seems far less absurd than the MSNBC crew.
