BTW two of the youngest (girls) were at the table studying tonight. Mom picked them up as I was leaving. They started babbling in relativly fast English.
Mom said slow down, slow down.
THey started again in Spanish and she said “NO, speak in English”
When I’ve spoken with family members they say that if they can speak English well their job in Mexico pays more and opens many doors for them.
The two original children have finished college (with honors) and have gone home. Medical and Education degrees. AN Aunt has opened a beauty shop with her education.
