I hope you’re right, but let’s prepare anyway.

And here I thought, before seeing your post, that the only person in the entire world who thought Newt Gingrich should run for President was Newt Gingrich.

I guess now there are TWO people who think it is a good idea.

Good, but going on a limb and throwing out names: Howie Carr, Mark Steyn, Ted Nugent or the one and only Rush Limbaugh. No Women, we need a strong, sharp man for the times that we live in.

I liked Gingrich for a long time, until he sat on the couch with Pelosi and ran his mouth about global warming.

He is damaged goods.

He won't run. He has said unequivocally he won't run and he is a man of his word. And besides that, although he is fiscally conservative, he is moderate on issues like energy, immigration and 2A. I love him as our Governor, but would not want to see as the Republican Presidential nominee.

Probably I am not in the majority on this, but I hope for someone who is very real and not “rock star” or “slick”...just someone who comes off as quite human. I can’t think specifically who that would be.

My Dream candidate is Allen West.

Allen West, pres. and Rubio, v pres. With enough experience would be a smash. Besides it would be fun to watch the libs go epileptic.

If the election were held today—

Huckabee would win 52-44.
Romney would win 50-45.
Gingrich would lose 47-49.
Palin would lose 44-52.

Palin is basically the GOP version of Howard Dean: a bomb thrower well-liked by the base, and alienating the swing voters in the process.

Personally, I want to see what Mike Pence and John Thune have to offer. Rubio and Christie probably won’t be in for 2012, and Mitch Daniels seems like David Brooks so far.

I hate to upset you, but I don’t think Palin can win in a national election. She would be a great asset as RNC chair, but not so good as a candidate.

She will not be able to get the voters she would need to win.

Wonder why so many other hopefuls have been pretty quiet?

They do because they have not been out there saying stuff to polarize and offend some of the masses they will need to win. Politics isn’t about being emotional. If you lose it doesn’t matter who voted for you and loved you. It still means you lost.

Sounds sick, but the 2010 races convinced me Palin could not win Ohio, Colorado, even Iowa. Look at who won in Iowa. Mostly democrats. In Ohio, Kasich won the governorship, but he isn’t all that conservative.

Without these states no pubbie can win. Like it or not.

I am a Woman and naturally I should be rooting for a Female but no, my choices are all men.

You are certainly not alone. Most woman would prefer a man to be in charge. Survey after survey reveals it.

I agree, the scenario you both describe will transpire and Clinton will be the nominee. Obama has already satisfied his ego and will declare victory in his “accomplishments” while finding some cock & bull excuse not to run again...but the real reason he won't run is for his fear of defeat and damage to what he perceives is already a great legacy.

Absolutely not Huckabee. He is a social justice race baiter and we don’t need anymore division by race after Obama. In addition, he’s a “compassionate” conservative and we need someone who will stand up to unethical destructive tendencies of globalist bankers and multinationals, reform the government’s scope and size and get this AMERICAN economy running again.
