With Rep. Paul Kanjorski vanquished, the congressional horse-trading will begin to determine the leadership structure of the House Financial Services Committee.
Kanjorski (D-Pa.) is Finance Chairman Barney Franks top deputy on the committee, but that will all change in January when the Republican majority takes over.
After surviving two previous challenges, Kanjorski succumbed Tuesday to challenger Louis Barletta, a mayor in the 13-term congressmans district in the northeast part of the state.
With Kanjorski out of the way and the Democrats headed into the minority, all eyes will turn to whether the party leadership passes the baton to ultra-left California Rep. Maxine Waters. On the seniority scale, Waters would be next in line. But in the House, anything can happen.
With an ethics trial on the horizon and an electorate not taking kindly to the kind of rabidly liberal politics for which Waters is known, some industry leaders shudder at the thought of her in a leadership role, even within the minority party.
If it falls to Maxine Waters that would be a big deal to us, Camden Fine, president and CEO of the Independent Community Bankers of America, said on CNBC. Im not sure the Democratic caucus or steering committee or conference would give Maxine Waters the open chair.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You beat me to it. lol.
Maxine has a little bit of an ethics problem to deal with, don’t ya think.
A moron replaces an idiot. Par for the democrats.
And guess what this member would be all about? This member would be all about socializing basically taking over, and the government running all of your companies. Maxine Waters
Skip Waters, and the Dhims will hear the CBC members cry ‘racism’. Give it to her, and they’ll hear Republicans hammer Dhims’ policy on finance panel.
my quote’s a bit off. She said liberal, not member.

That's a laugh! What are the odds that Waters could balance her cash drawer at the end of a shift at Dunkin' Donuts?
Isn’t she under investigation herself???
I think her and Sheila Jackson-Lee should be in charge of the minority party in the House! (”minority party” Is that racist? heh.)
One of the most honest statements ever uttered by a Democrat.
Waters would be next in line............hopefully to a jail cell! Commie bitch!
WOOOOOHOOOOOOO! HOORAY Lou! Yeah I saw this the day after and forgot about it in all of the other hoopla. THIS WAS HUGE!
VERY Huge. Back in September(?), Kanjorski made an announcement that a large area of land in Luzerne County was being looked at to set up an anti-terrorism training center for the State Dept. Every week, he was in the news bringing pork back to the area. The people of PA 11 finally wised up; I hope they keep that wisdom in coming years.
Waters could be the dumbest person in congress....and that’s saying something.
