John Kerry’s bucks stop where? (Still no tax payment on the yacht)

It’s been more than three months since we first told you about Capt. John Kerry’s high-seas tax dodge on his new $7 million yacht, Isabel, and the town of Nantucket still doesn’t have a check from the senior senator!

You may recall that Kerry lowered the flag and surrendered in July, agreeing to pony up more than $400,000 to cover state taxes on the toney tub. Mr. Teresa Heinz broke out the checkbook four days after the Track set off a furious tempest with our report that he had purchased the 76-foot floating palace and ported her in Rhode Island, thus depriving the commonwealth of its pound of flesh.

Look how long it took for John Hanoi Kerry to release (not) his military records. His dishonorable discharge has not showed up yet.

Ease up Freepers ... It's not Lurch's fault that Lovey has torqued back the war hero's meager allowance.

Why hasn't John Kerry been arrested for tax evasion? Surely that is a criminal offense in Massachusetts, especially for the amount of money involved.

I would imagine that if it was anyone else who owed even a fraction of the amount Kerry owes, that person would have been hauled away long ago. Clearly, it is good to be the king.

Put a tax lien on it and attach a 50 ton anchor with 4 feet of chain in 20 feet of water! Or, a small four foot hole in the hull might work....

The next time a MA citizen’s auto’s wheel rim or axle breaks due to an unrepaired pot hole, said citizen should send the repair bill to j.F.k.’s U.S. Senate office with a note: “Because you didn’t pay your tax - which would have paid to fix the pot hole - you get to pay this.”

Wasn't he once half owner in a lease ( maybe ) for a ‘muffin’ shop once? For like 6 months, until it folded.

( So, see. Hillbilly has ‘run a business. )

I hate to be a fly n the ointment here, but that was his right. If anyone posting owns out-of-state property, do you want to pay taxes for it in your home state also?

This is a non-issue which has the possibility of setting a bad precedent.

However, the state caps the assessment on yachts over 60 feet that are less than four years old at $50,000. Which, if you ask us, seems rather foolish . . . So, the $7 million Isabel, for excise tax purposes, is worth just $50G,

Only little people pay taxes!!

I suppose you’re right but if one is a Senator from one state and avoids paying taxes in that state it doesn’t look all that good...especially if you are the biggest taxer from the biggest taxing state! It appears Johnny boy is only in favor of other people paying taxes!!
