As for influence ... I'd bet good money that any influence between the two involves 0bama influencing his lickspittle Manchin, not the other way.
Manchin ran as a Republican. His famous ad of putting bullets through Obamacare was the highlight of the year. I’d have preferred Raese but Manchin knows he’ll be up for re-election in another two years and he’s that 7+ seat pickup for the GOP. Its small comfort to Dingy Harry who now has a very small majority to work with.
