That’s what I will never understand. I have complete respect for President Bush. Why does he even give Lauer and oprah the time of day. They only want him on for the ratings. Lauer and Oprah are phonies, can’t stand either one of them.

Good for you George to fight the rasist charge ‘the most disgusting moment in my presidency’.

We were in a time of war

It is a war that will never end, and now the dems have the keys to the White House, and they have all of the power that Bush worked to accumulate. If you think the liberals won't do more damage to this country than any terrorists, then you haven't been paying attention.

Thank you for posting this thread and providing a running commentary . . . My husband and I just finished watching the interview and all we could say was, WE MISS YOU MR. PRESIDENT! [Fortunately, we have tickets for his Veterans Day speech Thursday at Wright Patterson Air Force base in Dayton. The tickets were gone in one hour — that’s how much our military respects George W Bush!]

That will be very special. I got to witness firsthand the intense supportive relationship between military families and President Bush.

“purist naysayers”

You’re far too polite — I have a few ‘colorful metaphors’ that would be more descriptive, but I’ll save them for another time!

It is a war that will never end

You betcha ass it won't but Bush, despite being abandoned from the left and the right, understood that offense was the best defense against jihadist scum.

When that lesson is ignored America will suffer even more devastating attacks.

You don't like the spending during those years? Me either but it has never clouded my judgement about what exactly is the prime directive for the POTUS and that is keeping America safe. One of my few regrets in life was not spending my time as a grunt under a CINC like President Bush.

“Bush had the courage to take the heat to do what he thought was best for this country.

He also had the courage to sit face to face with Lauer and NOT make excuses or blame others. He admitted his mistakes.
Can’t see the Obama ever doing that.

As angry and disgusted I was about a number of things he did while president, I always believed he was a decent guy and did the things he did because he truly believed he was doing the right thing for the country.

That he didn’t criticize Obama was pretty classy.

I'm a Texas Rangers Season Ticket holder and us Rangers Fans are pretty used to seeing W and he always gets a nice ovation  from his fellow Texans whenever they show him on the big screen.

My seats are normally right behind where the visiting team's family seats are so I'm also used to hearing all the "non-Texans" make snide and often rude remarks as well. But at Game 4 of the World Series when he and HW threw out the first pitch I was surprised to hear a very profound statement from a guy dressed in San Francisco brown holding a sign that said "Texas Sucks", he looked at his wife and said, "remember what it was like to have a President who actually loves this country and likes Americans? I actually miss that guy!"

Yep,....and had he not kept this country safe we’d be singing another 9/11 tune...which at the rate this Pres. is going might very well occur. He’s bringing them here in droves now. From Iraq, Yemen, and all over the ME. It only takes a few to pull off another 9/11 only I think the next one will be far more dangerous.

Lauer seems to think Bush did nothing right in eight years....just like the purist naysayers on this thread.

Give me a break! I haven't seen anyone say "he did nothing right." If you really like his socialist spending and bureaucratic expansion why are any of bothering to fight it at all? Might as well pack it in with that kind of thinking.

Very unusual comment to overhear from a San Franciscan!

Maybe there's still a smidgeon of hope for some who live in the cesspool city.

Well that's just politics...it is how it works and goes. One party has the stage then the other and both play off the others performances...and or failures.

But what we have in Washington now is not even close to Democratic...and the Democrats know this...not that they get any sympathy from me, nor the people who voted them in. What we have is bunch of socialist/communist/high ego inflated numb-skulls who are so far in over their heads they'll never see the light of day. They all lack discerning this nation, how gov. does or doesn't work, and least of all a desire for the welfare of the people. And you know we have not seen any like this throughout our History....

Liberals are mild compared to what's infiltrated our Government....though they are surely pawns on the chessboard. Why do you think so many have jumped ship[p of late...some would have been expected but this abandonment of the party itself, what remains of it, was not expected no more than up until this last year did any think the Republicans would flood thru the storms as they did.

There are so many venues and International games being played now it isn't funny....much of the visual and news worthy exposing of it all began with Paulson’s cry to congress on 08’ but the seeds were planted years before. It was the largest takeover of the financial markets in History...and you seen to think it
s simply Liberals up to no good...it's far greater than that. We just see bits and pieces..and that spun by both sides. The American people likely could not handle the full impact of the deceptions and robbery going on behind what we see...if they did it would seem to many hopeless...which it is not.
