Over the past 15 months, Air Force officials have built from scratch a model new command that will sustain and modernize U.S. intercontinental ballistic missile wings and the nuclear-capable bomber fleet, said the general who leads the new command.

"Some people have likened that to trying to build an airplane while actually having to fly it," Lt. Gen. Frank G. Klotz told a group of defense reporters here Nov. 9. "And at times, it has seemed like that to us."

The U.S. nuclear fleet is what keeps this nation safe and strong. And now it’s being rebuilt? A new command?

Who’s been in charge of our nuclear fleet for the past 15 months?

Whenever you hear anyone in the military or government use the word "enterprise" to describe something (and they do ad nauseam), then run for the hills. It is an over used buzz work to cover up for the fact that they are blowing smoke.

Trust me on this.

Disbanding the old Strategic Air Command in 1992 was probably the stupidest decision ever made by Dick Cheney.

I hear ya. "Enterprise" is one of several buzz words and phrases which set my teeth on edge.

Another one is "We're on the glide path to success". A business administrator used that one once during a briefing and I went off on him. "A kamikaze was also on a glide path to success", I commented, "but I don't think we really want to emulate him."
