A series of bomb blasts targeting Christians in Baghdad has killed at least three people and injured two dozen more, security sources have said.
At least 14 roadside bombs were detonated and a mortar round was fired in Christian districts across the Iraqi capital last night and early this morning.
An interior ministry source told Reuters that the attacks were a “continuation” of the massacre at Our Lady of Salvation church which killed dozens of worshippers last week.
According to one report, today’s bombings targeted the family of one of the victims of the massacre.
The Islamic State of Iraq – an al-Qaeda front group – claimed responsibility for the Baghdad church attack and warned in a message published on militant websites that more attacks would follow. “We will open upon them the doors of destruction and rivers of blood,” the statement said.
The latest bombings follow protests by Iraqi Christians in Sweden, Australia, Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and America who urged the Iraqi government to do more to protect the country’s minorities.
About 300 protesters at the “Black March” in London called on Britain to remember its historic debt to Iraq’s Aramaic-speaing Assyrian Christians, who fought alongside Britain in two world wars.
Two Christians were also reported to have been murdered on Sunday.

Maybe just ONCE our fearless leader presidente globetrotter could speak out against the religious intolerance being exhibited against Christians he claims to know and love.
The problem if the iraqi christians do fight back is that the west are too politically correct to back them over the muslims while the muslim countries have no problem backing these terrorists.
Look at Lebanon, the christian resistance against muslim and palestinian attacks was painted as some extremist movement and pretty much got no support from anyone with the exception of israel who helped train and equip them, while every muslim country supported the palestinians.
Michael Moore calls these scum freedom fighters. Hold his fat to the fire and make him issue a condemnation for the guys he supported (with naked treason) when he declared “they WILL win Mr. Bush”.
One need not look far Christians are less than second class citizens in all muslim states. It’s a holy wars, a cleansing, a genocide in many countries and has been going on for many years, WAKE UP OBANGI!

If a country doesn’t have true “freedom of religion” to, without fear, assemble and worship (or not) in accordance with their personal conscience....then you don’t have a free society.
When we “liberated” Iraq we should NEVER have allowed any government to be set up that didn’t have this principle as a cornerstone.
We allowed the Iraqis to enshrine Islam in their constitution. Under their constitution, nothing is to be allowed in Iraq that “conflicts” with Islam.
and therein lies the problem with 'nation building'...
our blood and treasure should be simply to 'liberate'...then let em rebuild how they see fit...if they rebuild more evil, well then eventually we simply destroy it again and re-liberate...

Iraqi Christians continue being murdered by Iranian or Saudi-backed Islamic terrorists, while Obama was in Islamic Indonesia verbally blasting Israel, coupled with Hillary doing the same. Both of them are triggering severe judgments on America.
