On this Veterans Day, please take a moment to remember all those who served in uniform past and present. Though the words in this famous poem are about a soldier, they apply to every member of our armed services. God bless them all. May we never forget the sacrifices made to secure our liberty.
Its the Soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us the freedom of the press.
Its the Soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.
Its the Soldier, not the politicians,
Who ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Its the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag.
((((PING)))))
I never say “Happy” veteran’s day because the lot of the veteran isn’t a happy one. I say “Good” veteran’s day because peope llike me owe so much to veterans.
Thank all of you who have served, or are serving. thank you for the rights and freedom that I enjoy.
Good Veteran’s day to you all!
SEMPER FI!
To celebrate the end of WWI:
The 11th month, the 11th day, at the 11th hour is when the war ended (shooting stopped).
Thank you Zer0 for being out of the Country for Veterans Day.
The last thing I want to see is you desecrating our veterans and military by your presence.
On this Veterans day -I wrote
I have read the Book and know the six things God Hates.
But as I have stayed up thinking to many nights of lates
I pray there are six things made by men
That God will find he loves I name them for my friend
The Army, and the Air Force- The Navy and Marines
And don’t forget the Coast Guard These are our defense it seems.
But I served during Vietnam and another group I see
We called them Weekend Warriors -yet National Guard plays
it’s role I see .So as I remember the Veterans on this day
Set aside. I pray God and the soldier lest we forget
They will abide.

It is the Soldier
It is the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

All the kids marched in and sat on the floor in front of the seated guests. Then everyone stood for the star spangled banner and the third grade went forward and led the Pledge (complete with under God). Then the Principal asked the invitees to stand when their name was read. He read the name and service, and their relation to a student, starting with the Army, then Navy, Air Force and Marines. Their child also stood.
Each grade 1-5 came forward and offered a tribute to the vets. The Principal gave a short tribute of his own through his tears, and he spoke of God and country. They played a short film of clips of military actions along with the song for each group of the military, and finally all stood and sang along with Lee Greenwood, "I'm Proud to Be An American."
The children who had a relative there were told to stay and all the rest returned to class. We were served donuts and coffee, milk, orange juice. and our son took us on a tour of the school. Got to see our Emma in her Mama's class. It's so cute, she calls her Mrs. M. at school. I have to say it was a great program. Hubby and his brother were deeply touched. We thank God that our grandchild is in such a great school where the children are being taught about God and country, and to appreciate what our vets have done to secure their freedom.

Thank you from my “now very warm heart” for telling me about your most wonderful day! I will go to bed (right now) with a smile and joy! God bless you and your family, the wonderful patriotic school and God save our America from the “evil-doers”.
Lee Greenwood’s, “I’m Proud to Be An American,” always reminds me of President Reagan.
God bless and hold dear, those who gave it all, the ultimate sacrifice.
God bless our veterans. We honor them and their service.
I have to ping a whole lot of our friends!
