Everyone keeps assuming there will be an election in 2012.

Well, USA has been having them like clockwork since 1796, so, yes, we can expect a 2012 election.

Obama will be on the ballot.

He will get at least 43% of the vote. Democrat zombies are like that, they will vote for Obama even if he started a nuclear war by accident (”Bush’s fault!”).

Whether we have a Republican beat him 58%-42%, or some other result, like Obama winning 52% to 48%, is TBD...
Reality check: 2012 is not decided and the polls suggest it will be a close and tough race, whoever we pick:

“In a possible general election showdown, Obama leads Palin 52-44 percent among all registered voter ... In a hypothetical 2012 matchup, Huckabee leads Obama 52 - 44 percent, while Romney has a 50-45 point advantage, which is within the poll’s sampling error. Obama holds a 49-47 percent margin over Gingrich.”
