Jack B. Johnson, and wife, Leslie, were arrested Nov. 12 as federal investigators served search warrants at the County Administration Building. Each was charged with evidence tempering and destroying evidence. Just after 10:12 am Friday, Leslie Johnson frantically phoned her husband. Two FBI agents were at the front door of their two-story brick colonial in Mitchellville. "Don't answer it," the county executive said, unaware that FBI agents were listening in. Johnson ordered her to destroy a $100,000 check from a real estate developer hidden in a box of liquor. "Flush that," he said. And the cash? "Put it in your underwear." She replied, "I have it in my bra" - which is where agents discovered the money after she answered the door.

For those who don't know, Mitchellville is where a lot of wealthy black people live. Yes, they're mostly democrats. I think Michael Steele and Michael Wilbon, sports columnist, live there, too, don't recall.

Anyway, a few years back there was a controversy after the residents of Mitchellville sought to ban kids playing basketball at night because they were all thugs. Of course, the irony was that these wealthy black people wanted to live in a safe neighborhood just like the wealthy white (racists) in other parts of the Metro area. For some reason, the black residents couldn't adequately explain their disdain for unemployed kids who play basketball late at night without sounding like white people, so the newspapers stopped asking tough questions.

........this redefines the notion of a “cheap feel”.......

Makes you wonder how the agents got their hands on the money.

Did they say, "Drop that bra, or we're coming in after it"?

That Daddy DC would continue to be the fountain - rather volcano - of money for every resident of that county. The amount of money coming from federal government programs to residents of every surrounding county is beyond obscene.

Just one example: I heard the other day that the Homeland Security Administration is requiring 23 new buildings in the vicinity of DC.

WHY is what I want to know!!! Where are our “investigative journalists?”

......... the Johnsons apparently had no clue they were being bugged, even when the FBI was at their door.........

They have to be the dumbest crooks----using the phone to talk about destroying evidence. Now the feds got 'em on tape.

And as the CIA says---even smart crooks leave a paper trail.

I thought Michael Steele lived in Montgomery County but I could be wrong. A lot of wealthy black people do live there, but a lot of not-so-wealthy live in PG County, too, reinforcing its crap-hole qualities. Another scary place from PG Co.’s past: Landover Mall. I think the great Garfinkel’s tragedy brought it down. That, and the shoplifting.

I LOVED! Landover Mall. and Iverson Mall was a close second. But Landover was the first mega-mall in Maryland-DC suburbs. It was always a special treat to go there with my folks and just look around.

What was the Garfinkel's tragedy? I don't recall. I loved shopping at Hecht's at Iverson Mall and Woodie's, if there was a sale. I miss all those stores.

The Garfinkel’s tragedy was that all Garfinkel’s went belly up and all the stores closed. A sad, tragic day. I still have bedding and towels from the downtown store. Their merchandise was FIRST QUALITY.

This is the arrogant jackass who claimed the PG County Gestapo did nothing wrong in the Calvo case and the Calvos were not due an apology.

In a couple of years, this incident will be circulating in the RAT party and NAACP as a proof to bravery against overwhelming odds.

When the FBI knocked on her door and asked her to surrender, house commander Leslie answered:

Nipples!

rewriting this story:

“Prince George’s County elected Democrat Executive Jack B. Johnson (D) addressed reporters following his appearance in court Friday evening on charges of tampering with a witness in connection with a criminal offense and destruction of evidence in a federal investigation.

“I’m innocent of these charges,” Democrat Jack B. Johnson (D) said. “I just can’t wait for the facts to come out. When they come out, I’m absolutely convinced I’ll be vindicated.”

Democrat Johnson (D) deflected questions about serving out his term, as the elected Democrat serving as County Executive, which ends in December. “I’m the (Democrat who was) elected executive of Prince George’s,” Jack B. Johnson (D) said.”

He did not answer other questions.
