A listener to Michael Berrys radio broadcast in Houston Texas, called in to express her dismay with a Mexican flag being prominently displayed at her sons school, Klein Collins High School.
The Texas Mom did the appropriate thing and called the school to complain about the display and request that it be taken down, however, the school failed to return her phone call.
The student, possibly upset from the actions in California and after his mother received no response, took the Mexican flag down himself.
The administration of Klein Collins didnt take too kindly to the act. According to Michael Berry, the school, pitched a fit, reviewed the surveillance tapes, and suspended him for 3 days.
The young man is also being told he has to pay for a new Mexican flag.
Unrest over perceived preferential treatment toward Mexican-Americans continues to grow across the nation. Equally, anger is mounting within the Mexican-American community over Arizona and the national backlash to recent events.
It also flies at the Unitarian church I drive by all the time, and they have liberal slogans on the sign that are changed each week. Whee.
Private property my American butt.
In your day, would a Mexican flag be hung in your school hallway without a reason...or without an American flag in a higher position of honor?
In your day, would you be suspended for having an American flag on your bike?
I didn’t see this posted here, it’s a few months old
As you said it’s a few months old but here is a few of the FR postings if anyone is interested in seeing the comments there on.

No matter how you try to rationalize it, under no circumstances is stealing private property acceptable.
However, if you like, you can work to pass a law that protects those who steal private property that you happen to find distasteful.
Is it your view that students in a public school do not have rights to their private property and that once a student steps on school grounds, his fellow students are free to take his books, watch, iPod, phone and flag?
I tend to agree, and double that for tax paid, tax supported property like schools.
Bet the rent it’s coming...Illegal aliens are dropping nearly 1000 babies per month at Dallas, Parkland Hospital. At just one hospital....
No joke.
Americans have been seriously disrespected for many years now.
These Mexicans come here by tens of millions, breaking our laws, totally disrespecting our rules, our borders, laws and our sovereignty.
And then what do they do?
They pull out Mexican flags, and push them in our faces.
Hmm, I wonder if they’ll allow a Vatican flag display and powerpoint presentation during Holy Week?
I consider it removing litter.
“They pull out Mexican flags, and push them in our faces.”
Do you have some inside knowledge that proves that the student who placed the Mexican flag at the school is an illegal alien or not a US citizen?
I consider it removing litter.
Perhaps, but your considerations do not dictate school policy.
However, college admissions officials will consider a three day suspension for theft when reviewing college applications.
And I imagine that most colleges will not accept such a student.

Doesn't really matter, actually. The Mexican flag shouldn't be flown in a US school unless it flies BELOW the US flag. I'd have removed it, and enjoyed my 3 days off. Of course, back when I was in school, nobody would have thought of doing something as offensive as putting a Mexican flag on display.
State colleges don't care about trivial stuff like that - they'll take anybody. And, they will provide just as much leftist indoctrination as any other college.
>> under no circumstances is stealing private property acceptable.
Not exactly a ‘private’ display of foreign allegiance.
At the high school my son attended there were flags from various nations displayed in the wing where they taught history and civics. That did not seem to cause a problem.
The three day suspension is not a problem. Explaining that suspension when applying to college will be a problem.
The article doesn’t indicate the boy stole the flag. It says he took it down. He may have folded it and placed it on a nearby shelf.
That’s not true in Texas where one must be in the Top 10% of their class to be accepted into one of the flagship schools.
And when all things are equal, the red flag on a transcript that shows a student was suspended fir theft will not help his cause.
