WASHINGTON – The Obama administration is offering to add billions of dollars in funding for the U.S. nuclear stockpile in a deal that it hopes will win enough Republican support for approval of a nuclear arms control treaty with Russia. White House officials outlined the proposal to Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., who is seen as the key to winning enough support to ratify the New START treaty, according to a congressional aide briefed on the proposal Friday. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment.

“The Obama administration is offering to add billions of dollars in funding for the U.S. nuclear stockpile...”

And just where does he think the billions are going to come from - we’re broke! Oh, sorry I forgot. Bernanke will just print some up for him. /s

We have a foreign ICBM missile firing 35 miles off shore and they want to disarm? You can’t make that up.

Arms reduction treaties with Russia is the centerpiece of his foreign policy? Did the Time machine take us back to the 1980’s? Now you can drive your car from Bonn to Moscow, no probs.

Obozo is actually forcing us to live his undergrad term paper. It was on nuclear disarmament ya know! Amazing,,,

They need to move the utter failure of his Asian trip off the front pages.

The long-time liberal philosophy on foreign policy is that countries are arming in response to “American aggression.” They fully believe that if the US disarms, that the rest of the world will no longer fear the US and would also disarm. And we will all live happily ever after.

I’ve talked to many liberals over the years and they all believe this to some extent. These are the same people who blamed America for the cold war. They were the people that claimed the US was the reason we were locked in an arms race with the Soviets. Their philosophy was, if we back down, so will they. And those liberals still believe that to this day.

The answer should be NO! NO! NO!

In this age, we should be STRENGTHENING our nuclear and missile deterrent, not taking it apart.

Just today this is the second thing I've seen him pledge "billions" to...did he just print up some fresh "billion dollar bills"?

The Republicans are supposed to be up there to curb the spending, not take bribes from the kenyan.

Why do we need billions to sign a treaty? Ink gone up too?

\ Someone needs to sit him down for a pow-wow...he's missing some minor point the mid-terms should have conveyed.

hummmmm....

I just know the Russians are amazed,,,

They worry about stopping islam, drill and sell all the oil and gas they can find, claim huge areas of the Arctic to drill, sell fighters all over the planet, own the only way up to the Space Station, are building gas pipelines into Europe, want a gold-backed international trade currency so they don’t get screwed by the dollar, and just broke ground on a “silicon valley”. Oh,, and they instituted a 10% flat tax and their tax collections skyrocketed.

And the big-eared dumb ass comes running to them, breathlessly wanting to discuss nuclear disarmament.

Amazing,, Obama is the guy in 1965, trying to get tough with the Nazis.

The title you created:

"AP source: WH makes offers to break treaty impasse"

had to be replaced with the published title to prevent duplication. Please don't alter any published titles. Thanks.
