My whole idea of flight security consisted of a 3 minute video (with imagery of planes striking the twin towers) explaining to the passengers that if anyone takes over the airplane, you will die, if anyone puts something together out of strange parts and lights it, you will die, and if anyone manages to make a hole in part of the plane, chances are you will die. Any questions? Now pick up your K-Bar at the gate as you board and have a nice flight...
I often said that instead of taking away everything including fingernail clippers, we should issue everyone a knife upon boarding a plane. At least that would improve passenger politeness on flight and give everyone a fighting chance against the terrorists.
