Singer James Blunt 'stopped World War 3' James Blunt James Blunt had worldwide hits after leaving the army. Singer James Blunt has told the BBC how he refused an order to attack Russian troops when he was a British soldier in Kosovo.
Blunt said he was willing to risk a court martial by rejecting the order from a US General.
But he was backed by British General Sir Mike Jackson, who told him "I'm not going to have my soldiers be responsible for starting World War 3".
Blunt was ordered to seize an airfield - but the Russians had got there first.

Our old pal... Wesley Clark
Ah yes, our notorious “candy” Clark was the US General.
1999. Bill Clinton & Co. They sure buried the date deep in the story. I remember the taking of the airfield, but not the date.
“Weaselly” Clark had a bad reputation among his peers. One referred to him as a “gifted self-promotarian”.
“Interviews with a wide variety of current and retired military officials reveal that Clark was disliked by only three groups: Those whom ranked above him in the chain of command whom he ignored, his peers at the same rank whom he lied to, and those serving beneath him whom he micromanaged. Other than that, everyone liked him.”
“The simplest, most likely reason for the scathing, if vague, criticisms of Clark from former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Henry Hugh Shelton and Defense Secretary William Cohen, is this: As NATO commander, Wesley Clark had problems with the Pentagon’s chain of command. When Clark’s bosses didn’t agree with him, he just went around them.”
(Jumping the chain by going to Sandy Berger and Madeline Albright.)

The Man Who Would be King...slapped down by the Brits. If he had any balls, he would told NATO fine, then you fight the war in Serbia/Kosovo all on your own you pussies.
Kosovo forever killed any opportunity to foster a partnership with Russia.
Blunt should have gone to Clark and sang “Your Pitiful.”
Self-promoter, kinda like the buffoon we have in the White House now. Except that Wesley Clark actually served the country in uniform (no brown shirt like Hussein).
You seriously believe that British and NATO troop should have opened up on the Russians?!?
Bill Clinton and Weaseley Clark, busy fighting on the wrong side, helping to expand Muslim domination.
And Robert Smith of the Cure saved us from Mecha-Steisand.
Paper tiger at that point in time. They were spiralling down the economic sh*thole (kind of like us now).
And worse, they gave credence to the Russian hardliners who said that America could not be trusted, and led to the rise of Putin.
Wesley Clark was widely referred to as the Ultimate Perfumed Prince.
He was a political brown nose artist.
And to top it all off, he was a Rhodes Scholar from Arkansas.
LOL
They still had a bucketload of nukes...
Dude - I had the funniest dream the other night - being chased by Mecha Streisand.
