McCain: Go slow on ending military gay ban
UPI ^ | 2010-11-14

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Sen. John McCain said Sunday he opposes an immediate move to lift the U.S. military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Asked on NBC's "Meet the Press" whether he would block a vote in the lame-duck Congress on repealing the ban on gays and lesbians serving openly, McCain, R-Ariz., said, "I want a thorough and complete study of the effect on morale and battle effectiveness."

"Once we get this study," he said, "we need to have hearings and we need to examine it and we need to look at whether it's the kind of study that we wanted. It isn't, in my view, because I want a study to determine the effects of the repeal on battle effectiveness and morale. What this study is designed to do is to find out how the repeal could be implemented."

He said an Army master sergeant in Afghanistan had told him, "'Senator McCain, we live, eat, sleep and fight together in close proximity. I'm concerned about the repeal.' I would like to know more about it. That's the view that I got from chief petty officers and sergeants all over Afghanistan."

I so wish he had lost his primary, and that a true conservative now represented AZ.

Enough with the damned studies.

We have enough studies.

DADT is working fairly well Leave it alone.

Why risk our Armed Forces for a few fruits who’s only limitation is to keep their damned mouth’s shut. No pun intended.

McPain can’t be trusted to do what he says today. Down the road comes sooner or later, and that’s when we can trust McPain to do the opposite of what he says today.

His track record says as much.

And yet his wife is taking out ads in support of lifting the ban.

And his daughter? She’s the biggest fat-head in the family.

Talk about disfunctional.

Maybe he should convince those in his own household before he tries to B.S. the rest of us.

I can't wait for this A-hole and his family to go away.

You see, we have the slow road to overturing the constitution for Marxism ideals and dictates and the fast road to slaughtering the constitution for Marxism. McCain, because he is a “moderate”, would rather take the slow road.

McCain needs to sit down and shut up. I think his years of brainwashing by the Cong have finally caught up with him.

I have yet to meet an American who has served who wants homos serving with them. It is only the cowards who refuse to serve who want them.

I so wish he had lost his primary, and that a true conservative now represented AZ.

You, me, and the rest of the conservatives in Arizona wish that we had not had a rigged primary that was set up by a corrupt Arizona GOP. McCain was re-elected by the liberal (read: "relocated California") independents. Since the primary was not closed, we never had a chance. McCain spent $21 million to defeat J.D. in the primary. Who has ever spent that much money on a PRIMARY??? After that was over, he didn't spend a nickel. There wasn't a single radio ad aired after the primary was over. The primary WAS McCain's election.

All I can say is that I didn't vote for McCain in the Senate election. I drew the line for the Libertarian just to ensure my ballot couldn't be tampered with, but there was no way in he!! I was going to vote for McNasty ever again. And the people I know who were upset with me because I refused to vote for him are, once again, whining about him. My response is "Don't whine to me." Arizona, you got what you wanted. Now bend over and hope he uses some lube this time. The man is nasty, corrupt, and a bald-faced LIAR. I don't support him and the AZ GOP is dead to me.

"...keep their damned mouth’s shut.'

And do you know what the funny thing is? Many truly believe the world will be quieter place if DADTis repealed. But in truth, repeal is only a spring board for more victionizationist whining.
