KABUL, Afghanistan -US and NATO officials claimed Sunday that insurgents in Afghanistan are facing financial problems and are in a weakened state after a fierce summer of fighting.
In recent weeks, US and coalition troops have launched several large scale clearing operations to drive the Taliban out of key areas in Southern Afghanistan.

All 57 are being weakened by the Kenyan.
I would argue that in any conflict time is the single most important factor.
As an example, the Japanese dealt us a devastating blow at Pearl Harbor, but time was on the side of the USA. Japan scored victory after victory, but given enough time, our industrial capacity would overwhelm Japan, and it did.
In the case of Afganistan, time is 100% on the side of the Taliban.
Time is on their side because we do not chase them down wherever they hide and kill them.
Right. Bless the troops in the field, but it seems that our overall strategy is to do little and hope that the Taliban will somehow just go away.
