Haagen Dazs now sells its ice cream in 14 ounce packages instead of the former full pint.

I knew it!! I have been looking at that roll thinking — I swear that is narrower than before. And I’ll bet anything that there is less of it.

forced to go ‘metric’

That happened with liquor a long time ago.....you could once get a half gallon of bourbon; it's been 1.75 liters for quite a few years.

Along this general line, when I was in the fish biz some shrimp packers from Asia and Australian packaged their blocks of shrimp in 2 kilo packs (4.4 pounds).....since the U.S. industry was totally accustomed to 5 pound blocks, fortunes got made by way of 're-marking' those shorter weight imports up to 5 pounders. Instant 10 percent extra profit.

Do what? Have you bought any toilet paper... Charmin, Northern... major brands? They are all 1.25 inches narrower.

” I did, I’m a label reader. “

I used to get really irritated at you people who would park in front of a shelf-section and minutely examine every label, when all I wanted to do was grab something and git —

Now I’m one of you.... ;)
